'ROLLERBALL' MARC ROCCO

Mark Rocco was probably the most energetic high-flyer and most daring wrestler of his era. A Rocco match was guaranteed to be non-stop action from the first bell. It didn't matter to Mark whether he was matched with the lighter stars like Johnny Saint and Steve Grey or the full blown heavyweights like Tony St Clair or Kendo Nagasaki, every opponent got the same treatment. At the height of his career, a wrestling magazine at the time published a 'Most Hated' and 'Most Popular' wrestler poll - Rocco topped both polls! That said it all. Even if you didn't like his rough house style of wrestling you still had to admire his athleticism, his in-ring ability and his charisma - something that very few British wrestlers before or since possess.

Mark was a second generation wrestler. His dad Jim Hussey was a top heavyweight during the 60's and early 70's and Mark's son Richard also entered the ring for a short time several years ago. During his time Mark held both British and World titles but he didn't need a championship belt to attract hundreds of fans night after night up and down the country. Unfortunately at the height of his fame, a heart problem cut short his career. Still in good health, he now lives in Tenerife where he operates a very successful business empire.
