Due to popular demand, Britannia Wrestling Promotions will return to Silverdale WMC on Friday 4th September 2009. BWP hosted a show in the popular Silverdale venue back in April this year, which proved to be a roaring success and highly popular with the residents of Stoke on Trent.

General Manager ‘The Word’ Rudy Wynne has stated that the Silverdale return show will not just be as good as the first one … it will be bigger and better because he will be running the show. One man that will be missing from action this time around will be El Destello, who dominated the April show by hospitalising The G-Man Simon Gaytley after their brutal No Holds Barred match. McGrou, manager of the Lethal Luchador, has been in talks with The Word regarding his future within the company, McGrou has helped greatly with the success of El Destello throughout his time with the BWP and is rumoured to continue to offer his services to the other guys in the locker room whilst Destello is absent from action.

One man that will be returning to the red hot Silverdale crowd will be BWP World Catchweight Champion, Sebastian Winterz. Seb’s last visit to the Stoke on Trent village ended with a bang, as Seb drove Angelos quite literally through the centre of the ring with a devastating suplex from the top rope. Will the Champs return to Silverdale have an equal impact as his first?

Seats can be booked in advance through Silverdale WMC – it is always advisable to fans to book their seats in advance to avoid disappointment on the evening of the event, as tickets can not be guaranteed on the door. Alternatively, tickets can be booked by telephoning the BWP ticket office on 07964213751.

BWP’s make-up wearing & fun loving hard man, Simon Gaytley, was sensationally hospitalised at the hands of El Destello this past weekend, as they took on each other in a 1st Round qualifying match of the BWP Elimination Tournament … their match unlike any other qualifying match, was made to be a No Disqualification/Falls Count Anywhere match, set by BWP Founder Steve Saxon for reasons unknown.

From the offset Destello took it to the G-Man hard – hitting him with fierce and brutal punches and kicks, G-Man was able to outwit the masked Mexican menace and gave the Silverdale natives a few laughs along the way as he tiraded in the ring, humiliating Destello as well as physically punishing him!

The brawl soon ended up on the arena floor amongst the spectators, G-Man & Destello tried to finish each other off as they slammed each other through walls, tables and doors … fighting around, under and on top of the tables … they threw everything at each other, brutally beating each other to a bloody pulp … even the audience members became involved in this masacre as G-Man invited 2 audience members to send in a couple of blood-vessel popping slaps on the Mexicans chest.

Although G-Man had the crowd behind him, and gave the Lethal Luchador a run for his money, it was not enough for the fun loving fairy to get the win, as Destello managed to get literally smash as chair over his head, busting open the G-Lips and decking him! Destello was not finished, as he gave Gaytley 2 other chair shots to the skull followed by a Kendo stick shot to the centre of the G-Mans make-up covered eyes! As the ref was about hit the 3 count in favour of Destello, the mad Mexican broke the count and slapped on the DSTF with the Kendo stick around the G-Mans throat – referee Rudy Wynne instantly called for the bell, although El Destello had not finished with the unconscious Gaytley – he continued to throttle the G-Man … until Rudy Wynne called for BWP Head of Security, Wayne Hambleton to manhandle the masked man off the motionless body of Simon Gaytley.

Gaytley was immediately rushed to North Staffordshire hospital for urgent treatment, having lost a lot of blood and being unconcious for almost 5 minutes, concerns grew over the well being and health of the flamboient G-Man. Doctors attended to the wounds and laserations of Gaytley and kept him in for overnight observations.

This morning, BWP Founder Steve Saxon contacted britanniawrestling.co.uk to inform us that Simon Gaytley had been discharged from hospital and had been taken home to North Wales to get some much needed and earnt rest, the G-Man is in high spirits given the over the top beating that he took from El Destello. No further information is available at this time on the condition of Gaytley, although we will try to get hold of him shortly to try and get his thoughts and comments on what is being dubbed as the most brutal battle that British wrestling has ever witnessed!

As the explosive rivalry between East & West hit burning point, Seb Winterz took on the SuperNatural, Angelos in Silverdale, Stoke on Trent last Friday night in a battle that would not only determine who would qualify to the final stage of the BWP Eliminator …. but would also end up testing both mens mind, body and spirit to the max!

From the moment the bell rang, referee Rudy Wynne has his hands full as Winterz and Angelos tore into each other with vicsious and venomous moves, each trying to dismantle their opponent to proceed onto the final of the tournament … Angelos proved to be the smarter of the two competitors on this night, out-thinking and smarting the Siberian Physco to gain the upper hand, utilising his agility and techincal in-ring knowledge Angelos beat down the big man.

Unfortuately for the young English man, the Russian bear’s bone smashing arsenal of hard hitting moves proved to be the decision maker, although Angelos fought back time after time, it was not enough for what Seb Winterz had next in line for him.

As Winterz locked Angelos into his patented Russian Roulette suplex, neither man quite expected what was to come next …. the power and force of Winterz finishing move not only folded young Angelos in half, but also the ring!! Winterz’ brute force sent Angelos literally crashing through the centre of the ring to the arena floor, causing the red hot Silverdale crowd to stand in complete shock as they then witnessed the Russian get back up, climb to the top rope and hit a planet-moving elbow drop on the broken Angelos … referee Rudy Wynne had no alternative but to give the win to Seb Winterz as a result of his actions and the aftermath it had created!

As Seb Winterz vacated the ring area, BWP officials tried to give emergency treatment to Angelos, but the young Londoner refused to be strectchered out of Silverdale and somehow managed to pick himself up and walk out of there on his own accord, much to the delight of the Silverdale crowd who cheered for him as a sign of respect.

Seb Winterz is a powerful and dangerous man, we have witnessed him annialate opposition in both tag team and singles competition – although he did not win the Eliminator tournament to proceed to the championship run … it goes without saying that the Russian bear will be hunting the gold by whatever means possible!

Angelos proved that he can run with the big boys, even without his brother by his side he almost had Winterz beat with his fast paced and no fear attitude, expect that Angelos will be seeking retribution on the big Eastern brawler very soon and as much as Winterz will be hunting the gold, Angelos will be hunting him!

Last night, Silverdale Stoke on Trent witnessed a hard hitting and extreme evening of professional wrestling, as eight of the BWP’s toughest Superstars competed in the BWP Eliminator Tournament … but only one man stood tall and victorious at the end of the evening, having taken out four of the eight competitors, ‘Rapid Fire’ Tommy Gunn defied the odds and was crowned the first number one contender for the new BWP Championship Title.

With the crowd strongly backing Gunn throughout the night, as he finished off the ‘Brummie Bad Ass’ Jay Icon with a massive springboard splash … but not before being bust wide open by Icon, but this was still not enough to put Gunn away as he proceeded to the final of Eliminator against other Round 1 winners, The Red Dragon, Seb Winterz and El Destello.

As The Red Dragon walked away from the match and assisted commentator Jason Sinclair as Tommy Gunn managed to fend off the onslaught of El Destello & Seb Winterz and hit them both with a double SY5 finisher, eliminating both the Mexican & Russian! As Gunn watched the 2 International Superstars fighting with referee Rudy Wynne, The Red Dragon seized his chance and returned to the match, along with Gunn’s earlier opponent Jay Icon.

Both men beat down the already tired and wounded Tommy Gunn, setting him up for a knock-out shot with a kendo stick, until Gunn was both smart and quick enough to dodge the attack, as The Red Dragon smashed Icon over the head with the kendo stick …. as Dragon was distracted by his own actions, Metal came to the aid of Tommy Gunn as he took out The Red Dragon with the same kendo stick, giving enough time for Tommy Gunn to regain his momentum and get the 123 on the Dragon to be crowned the BWP Eliminator Tournament winner.

Gunn was badly injured and received medical attention at North Staffordshire Hospital as he received several stitches to his right eye, as well a treatment for a gash to his right arm. He has stated that he will be 100% fit and well to take on the next contender for the BWP Championship, whoever that may be.

In a few short days on April 3rd, Britannia Wrestling Promotions will descend on Silverdale, Stoke-on-Trent for the Silverdale Eliminator. A unique concept to the show, as the entire show will be a tournament to crown the first contender for the soon to be introduced BWP Championship!

The tournament will feature 4 first round matches, with the winners of these single matches advancing to the tournament grand final, in a fatal four way elimination match. Wrestlers will be eliminated by pinfall or submission, and the last man standing will be the #1 contender to the BWP Championship, and will advance to the BWP Title match at a later date.

That’s the excitement for the BWP Silverdale Eliminator at the Silverdale WMC on April 3rd, but what of the competitiors themselves? Here are the eight men in with a shot of being crowned #1 Contender at Silverdale Eliminator!

Seb Winterz
Very little is known about this giant Siberian Psycho, but after an impressive debut at a show in Llanwrtyd Wells last month, Seb Winterz could be considered one of the favourites. A man posessed with a brutal hard hitting style, Seb Winterz could be one to watch for the future.

One thing to note is that his Transiberian Express partner – Night Stalker – could play a part.

On his first round opponent – Angelos: Mince meat…. Light work…. take your pick of pathetic british sayings from this pestilant little country. If I were Nelos, I would not come near stoke on the 3rd of April… I will destroy him in the ring. I will out wrestle him, out smart him and prove my dominance not only as a tag team wrestler but as a singles competitor aswell.

On who he would like to face in the final: I do not care who I face in the finals, I only care about winning the BWP title and being the most terrifying and manical force in this company. However it would be very fitting to meet The Metal in the final of this competition, because after I destroy his brother in my qualifying match, to will be very poetic to single handedly take care of that tag team!

METAL… NELOS… I GOT THE TASTE OF YOUR BLOOD 2 WEEKS AGO AND I LIKE IT, DON’T BE SUPRISED IF YOU SEE ME BEFORE THE SHOW ON APRIL 3RD BECAUSE I DON’T THINK I CAN WAIT THAT LONG BEFORE I GET SOME MORE!

Angelos
After being pinned by Seb Winterz last month, the charismatic and talented Angelos petitioned to BWP owner Steve Saxon to face him in one on one action. Impressed with the fire and determination

Himself newcomer to both the BWP, Angelos will be keen to get on the win sheet, and prove to himself, and his ever growing fanbase that he is not just a pretty face and flashy moves, but he can get the job done.

On his first round opponent – Seb Winterz: Sebastian Winterz is a monster of a man with agility as well as raw power who also got the better of me at Llanwrtyd Wells.

But the way i see it, he had the Night Stalker do all the work and when he was in trouble he brought the siberian psycho in to keep the metal and myself down, now one on one we’ll see if the russian grim reaper can make me play russian roulette Or will I hit the Jackpot?!

On who he would like to face in the final: There are two people i’d like to face in the final, either El Destello as he seems to be the top guy in the BWP and i would like to test my self against the best.

And of course the second person would be The Metal. There is no reason needed!

Metal
The youngest man in the tournament at just 17 years old, Metal is the other half of The Supernaturals with Angelos, and is Angelos’ younger brother. Metal had an impressive showing at his first show, and as such Steve Saxon has put him in the Elimination Tournament. One half of the most popular tag team of Metal will have his work cut out to win the Elimination tournament, but there is no questioning his heart, and who knows how far this unproven youngster could go at Silverdale?

On his first round opponent – The Red Dragon: Red Dragon is a big man theres no doubt about it. And im sure when people see him, then they see me, there going to assume the match is already over..But i didn’t get to the BWP lying down and thinking size was an issue..So come April 3rd, don’t think me the underdog..Think ME the one HE should be afraid of.

On who he would like to face in the final: First and most of all i’d like to meet Sebastian Winterz in the final 4, but he of course will first have to meet my fist. Apart from that any will do,i’ll gladly try and take on the best. Even if that means my own brother..I’m sure he’ll understand.

El Destello
In the last decade, El Destello has been dominating the UK ranks of professional wrestling. The native of Guadalajara, Mexico, El Destello was trained by the legendary El Bandito. Never far from his trusty cane, and having previous experience on winning knockout tournaments, El Destello is considered a huge favourite. However, depending on who joins him in the Elimination match, the lethal luchador, by his sheer lack of friends in the locker room, could find himself eliminated very quickly.

On his first round opponent – “G-Man” Simon Gaytley: Ah mi Gios of all the stars i could have faced in the opening round, i get that sick freak Gaytley! You see amigo, it does not matter who i got in the first round, El Destello is going through the Eliminator final and will then go on to become the number 1 contender for the BWP strap homes! Sadly for Gaytley he has drawn the short straw man, he is not only facing the Lethal Luchador in the Eliminator, but our match has been set as a no DQ match man, romperé este niño – Gaytley won’t know what has hit him, and Stoke on Trent will be begging to see more of El Destello!

On who he would like to face in the final: Quién cuidados man, who gives a dam, whether it is Tommy Gunn, The Red Dragon or any of the other perdedores in this tournament, El Destello will walk over them all and claim the number 1 contenders slot – and then, take my place as the rightful BWP Champion!

The Red Dragon
The biggest man in the tournament. The man from the hills & the valleys of North Wales could be considered another “big” favourite. The Red Dragon has been traveling the length & breadth of the UK, destroying all comers in every major city in the UK. His brutal style has been refined by Orig Williams and Klondyke Kate, and what better way to cement his ascent up the rankings that for this hungry 21 year old to be named #1 contender for the BWP Title?

“G-Man” Simon Gaytley
Could we see a rather effeminate #1 contender come midnight on April 3rd? If the G-Man has is way, we may do. The superstar who is the longest in the shower may just unnerve his fellow competitors enough so he can walk all over them to the #1 contendership. But don’t let his in ring antics fool you, he’s one tough cookie in his own right.

On his first round opponent – El Destello: There is only one word that can accurately describe El Destello…..DEVIANT!

The last time we met (view a video of it here) , we were back and forth, literally beating each other off, until eventually i was on top, hammering him both in and out of the ring. He however came on top, when, as the ref’ was distracted, he got behind me, took his big weapon in both hands. As i turned to face him he drove his weapon at me with full force and proceeded to bang me in the mouth with it!

Before i knew it i was flat on my back, and he had me, right there in the middle of the ring!

This time i’m going to make sure we do things properly….no disqualification! He’d better have his weapon at the ready…because i’m bringing mine…and i know how to use it!

On who he would like to face in the final: The Red Dragon is another man who i’ve had in the ring on occasion but has always managed to beat me off! Up until now red dragon has always been a bit too much for the g-man to handle! I mean this man is huge!

This time I have a game plan…not going into details…but lets just say the G-man always ends up on top!

Jay Icon
This 6′5″ competitor from Birmingham towers over most of the competition, and has a wealth of experience for this tournament. Already successful in singles competition in the BWP, in a match where he suffered a knee injury. He has proven he can win against the odds, can he do it in Stoke and become the #1 Contender?

Tommy Gunn
Little is known of this popular, high flying youngster from the Midlands. Tommy Gunn has been wowing crowds throughout the midlands, and he will be appearing at the BWP Silverdale Elimination. An unknown enigma, it is impossible to say just how far – if anywhere – this youngster will go in this tournament.

So there are your 8 competitors. Who do you think will win? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

This Friday, Britannia Wrestling Promotions will bring it’s unique brand of British wrestling to a show in Silverdale Working Mens Club, Stoke-on-Trent. Whilst a lot of the wrestlers are delighted to showcase their talent to the great fans of Stoke-on-Trent, one participant in the Silverdale Eliminator isn’t.

On the Britannia Wrestling Promotions Forum, Seb Winterz made the following disparaging remarks about the town and the residents of Stoke (view the whole post here).

“I have heard that the people from Stoke have their own language… called dumb ass!

I have a message of my own… Angelos! Every person you see, stop them, shake their hand and thank them, because you owe them more then you think, after Friday I will personally make you a leech on the NHS, you will require so much surgery, so much medical attention, so much specialist treatment and rehabilitation that it will take the tax money from at least a small town or city in England… that town of course wouldn’t be Stoke, because with all the people there too lazy to work, they wouldn’t be able to gather 40p to phone an ambulance from a dingy little urine stained phone booth. The best part of the night won’t be me beating you in the middle of the ring, it won’t be me being named the number 1 contender, it will be me leaving that god forsaken little dive!”

Obviously the comments are Mr. Winterz’s opinion and do not represent the views or the thoughts of Britannia Wrestling Promotions.

It’s not sure what repercussions there will be for Seb Winterz, with the head of the BWP Steve Saxon refusing to comment at this time. It will be interesting to see what sort of locker room justice Angelos and at the BWP Roster hand out to the Siberian Psycho. We shall see on Friday!

McGrou, Manager of El Destello, has sensationally been suspended for 60 days by BWP Owner Steve Saxon.

Saxon had this to say on the matter:

‘After the last BWP event in South Wales earlier this month, we received numerous complaints from the audience members about the way that McGrou became actively involved in the matches of El Destello in order to assist him to victory – this was not the first time that McGrou has crossed the line and become physically involved in a match, despite previous warnings to both McGrou and Destello, McGrou continued to ignore the warnings and has now been suspended for 60 days.’

When asked about if this decision would also affect El Destello, Saxon responded ‘El Destello, although clearly involved in the arrangement with McGrou, was officially participating in the matches that involved his manager becoming involved, unfortunately we are unable to proceed with disciplinary actions against Destello at this time as he was sanctioned to be physically involved in both of the said matches’.

How will the temporary departure of McGrou affect the in ring abilities of El Destello? Will we suddenly see the Lethal Luchador less victorious without his manager beside him? One thing is for sure, it won’t take long to find out as El Destello is scheduled to take part in the BWP Eliminator Tournament this coming Friday 3rd April in Silverdale, Stoke on Trent … in the opening round of the tournament, Destello will be facing off against G-Man, without his protection at ringside with him, can Destello advance to the final of the event?

Earlier today, BWP Owner Steve Saxon released the official line-up for The BWP Eliminator tournament taking place in Silverdale, Stoke on Trent next Friday 3rd April. Although the 8 competing Superstars knew they had been selected to take part in the prestigious wrestling tournament, they had no idea, until now, of who their opponent would be.

1ST ELIMINATION ROUND
Seb Winterz V Angelos

El Destello V G-Man

The Red Dragon V Metal

Jay Icon V Tommy Gunn

WINNERS OF THE 1ST ROUND MATCHES WILL PROCEED ONTO THE 4 WAY ELIMINATION FINAL MATCH TO CROWN THE NEW BWP CHAMPION!

I have a feeling that there may be some mixed feelings about the set matches for the tournament – things have certainly began to heat up a little in the BWP, but who can handle the heat to become the number 1 contender for the BWP Championship Title?

Stay posted for further developments on this …..
