FRIDAY 4th FEBRUARY had been cursed with the presence of The Brand as they took over the evenings proceedings in support of ‘Brand Night’.
The show opened with the Rookie Division 4Way No1 Contenders Match with the winner going on to face Rookie Champion Togan later in the evening. Dr X, Jacob Israel, The Hangman and ‘Italian Stallion’ TVB made their way to the ring immediately throwing themselves into a fight frenzy in a bid to get that no1 contenders spot. Hangman and TVB picked up where they left of in November following The Hangmans interference that cost TVB the Rookie Championship. Both men utilised every wall, door and floor space as they could to try gain control. Dr X & Jacob Israel soon ended up on the venue floor in the midst of the BWP fans, battling back and forth.
As TVB and The Hangman were busy causing each other a whole lot of pain on the outside, Jacob Israel was taking care of business on the inside of the ring, hitting Dr X with a fame-asser from the top rope for the win! The winner of this match, and completely unexpected given who else was in that match, Jacob Israel!!
Jacob Israel looked as shocked as the rest of the Rookies as they looked on in total disbelief …. but Israels celebration was short lived as out of nowhere The Brand made their presence known as they surrounded the ring as the Rookies stood shoulder to shoulder in an act of solidarity to take on these pack of wolves – or so it seemed, as The Brand entered the ring both Dr X and The Hangman shoved Israel and TVB into The Brand allowing themselves time to flee the ring to the safety of the locker rooms. Six on two – Jacob Israel was locked into a back breaking rock bottom, TVB’s skull was almost crushed to a pulp as DJ King and Luke Danzig hit a sickening double super kick to his head. The Brand had caused mayhem and upset once again, but they were not finished. DCB ordered the Danzigs to lock young Irael into the tree of woe, as the defenseless and beaten Jacob Israel hung upside down and unprotected, DCB smashed his kendo stick across his left knee … no sooner had Israel stopped screaming in agony, DJ King laid in a second kendo stick shot to the same knee.
The Brand then made their way to the stage where DJ King announced that they are taking over the nights proceedings, they control the matches, they control the show because it is Brand Night! They even took over the show commentary as they sat and belittled and bullied commentators Ciaran McConnell and Oscar Lucas.
Talking of Ciaran McConnell, he was up next in a sanctioned exhibition match against Corey E – as DJ King ordered him to the ring, berating and mocking the Irish favourite. As Corey walked to the ring he had to pass the glaring Brand members who sat on the entrance stage. Both of these Superstars were fan favourites, they locked up together and proceeded to show the Saltney crowd exactly what good professional wrestling is all about – trying their best to ignore the insults that The Brand were throwing at them from the commentary area. With the crowd behind them both men were show casing their skills … but they were not to liking of The Brand as DJ King called for the bell to be rung within 2 minutes of the match starting. King announced that this match was boring him and his fellow Brand members, and then set the Danzig Bros to remove them from the ring – but they came short as McConnell and Corey united to take on The Brands dogs, but then add one DJ King to the mix, put in his hands a kendo stick and you have very bad odds for the good natured duo. Sending them packing to the locker rooms, DJ King then demanded that one former best friend of his make his presence known and so that DJ King could make an offer that he could not refuse.
Enter D Mac … showing no sign of intimidation as he passed The Brand on the entrance stage, being confronted by DCB who waved his BWP World Catchweight Championship in D Macs face as a reminder that he (and The Brand) beat him for that very title back in November. DJ King told D Mac that he was fed up of waiting, D Mac wanted him and he wanted D Mac, with that said DJ King told Oscar Lucas to ring the bell and get that match on the way!
As D Mac rolled into the ring and prepared to lock up – DJ King dropped a bombshell, a very large bombshell, on D Mac. DJ King was going to face D Mac, but not alone, instead he would be teaming with the newest member of The Brand to face D Mac in a handicap match … that man was …. the gigantic 28stone Cyanide! All that D Mac could do is look on as a gloating DJ King walked behind the man-mountain Cyanide … both men heading towards him!
As much as D Mac tried to come back from the brutal onslaught of blow after blow from both Cyanide and DJ King, he hit a brick wall each time. The size and power of Cyanide combined with the sly-tactics and roughneck style of one DJ King were too much for D Mac, but the ex-BWP Champion remained defiant as he refused to be beaten so easily and quickly. D Mac gathered all of the courage and power he could, drawing his final resources from the crowds support and looked to have finally found a gap in The Brands offense by taking out the big man and locking in his sights on his former best friend. As D Mac dropped King and proceeded to dish out his own beatings, a stiff and well placed right fist of Cyanide KO’d D Mac allowing DJ King to get the sneaky 3 count for the win.
As if D Mac had not suffered enough battery and humiliation when the other Brand members entered the ring and picked on the remains left by Cyanide and DJ King. DCB threw punch and punch as the Danzig Bros laid in boot after boot on a defenseless D Mac – until enough was enough for several BWP Superstars, Jim ‘The Metal’ King raced to the ring along with Corey E and ‘Classic’ Ciaran McConnell forcing The Brand to flee the ring to the safety of the entrance stage.
BWP General Manager Sebastian D.Winterz ordered Corey, McConnell and D Mac to leave the ring immediately whilst he addressed his former friend Jim ‘The Metal’ King. As King paced the ring awaiting to hear what the GM had in store for his this time, Seb Winterz brought out Kings next opponent in his personal challenge at getting a match with Sebastian D.Winterz – the man he must go through next in his quest was masked Superstar Zero!
Zero quickly got into the action, forcing Jim King into a corner and not giving up on his assault, ignoring referee Des Robinsons 5 count and plea’s of reason, forcing the ref to disqualify the masked man giving Jim a very quick victory in the 2nd of his 3 challenges set by the GM.
As Jim was allowed out of the corner to catch his breath, Winterz took to the mic once again informing Jim that he should never underestimate the GM – as the GM had Jims 3rd, and final, opponent with him and he was ready to go right there, right then! Seb stated that he knew of only one man who Jim had locked up with many times, but has never beaten … the only man guaranteed to take Jim out and put an end to his little journey to reach Sebastian D.Winterz – that man was none other than Jims big brother, the banished Marcus King!
As Jim and the BWP Nation looked on at the entrance stage in complete shock – Zero re-entered the ring behind Jim and proceeded to remove his mask … unveiling none other than Marcus King himself, the first time in almost a year that Marcus had been allowed to step foot in a BWP ring! The Brand stood on the stage laughing and mocking Jim King – who then realised that once again The Brand, and Sebastian D.Winterz, had set him up. Jim turned to face his brother, to be greeted by a well directed punch to the face momentarily dazing the former-Champ, but it wasn’t long before Jim and Marcus locked horns as we best know them, back and forth, fast paced action – these guys know each other inside out better than anybody else in this business. They trained together since being children, they worked alongside of each other winning the 2009 Tag Team of the Year award, until Marcus was bought out by ‘The Word’ Rudy Wynne back in late 2009 to form The Word Association with DCB and LGT. Since that time, Marcus and Jim have clashed on several ocassions, each time with Marcus coming out on top, not always through his own doing, none-the-less the BWP win/loss records shadow Jims career as falling whenever he faced his older sibling.
This match looked to be just another notch on Marcus’s impecable record over Jim, until The Brand chirped up from the entrance stage informing Jim that he suddenly had just 60seconds to beat his brother, or the match would end in a no-contest meaning Jim would not have achieved a perfect 3 in his quest to qualify for a match with GM Sebastian D.Winterz. Jim went immediately into overdrive, throwing everything he had at his brother in an attempt of overcoming the shadows of his past as well as getting the match he so desperatly craved with his former best friend. Marcus was holding off, knowing Jims arsenal of moves, and knowing his brothers mentality at this point, he used this knowledge to his advantage as he attempted to block and counter everything that Jim could throw at him – as successful as Marcus was seeming to be, Jim had also done his homework, working on new techniques, styles and moves that nobody including Sebastian D.Winterz or even his very own brother would expect.
Jim had seconds to go and then brought out his Ace card – wrapping up Marcus King and eventually hitting his trademark ‘Go To High Rule’ cutter finisher … down and out went Marcus King as his brother, Jim ‘The Metal’ King, finally defied history as he got the referee’s 3 count for the win!!
The Brand were not happy – Seb sent down his dogs to keep Jim King down as he strutted to the ring rolling up his sleeves. The GM had decided to honor his word to allow Jim a match with him if he beat 3 men of his choice, seeing as Jim was able to do that the GM gave Jim the match he craved so badly right there and then! With the Danzigs and DJ King beating Jim in the centre of the ring, Jim tried his best to once again come back from the odds … being cut off by DJ Kings cutter move. Enter Sebastian D.Winterz who had the commentator ring the bell for his first match in over 12 months out of action, and Jims 3rd match within a matter of minutes!
Winterz lined up Jim …. waiting smugly in the corner of the ring, eyeing up the beat up Jim King …. as Jim got to his feet, Winterz cut him off and knocked him out with a brutal punt kick to the face followed by a quick pin, referee Des Robinson appeared to make the count to save Jim from further punishment, as reluctant as Des may have been, with the bringing down of his hand he declared Sebastian D.Winterz the winner in his match with Jim ‘The Metal’ King, and seemingly making Jim Kings challenge pointless for the ex-Champ!
Next up was the moment that the BWP Nation were waiting for … the BWP debut of International masked Superstar The Red Saint! As The Red Saint entered the ring to a roar of appreciation from the attending fans, his debut into the BWP was interrupted by General Manager Sebastian D.Winterz who proceeded to welcome Red Saint to the BWP – then informing him that it doesn’t matter where he had been before, it didn’t matter who he had beaten or even who had trained him, what was important to Winterz was that Red Saint knew who was in charge in the BWP and in order to ensure that Saint knew these important facts he would be facing Luke Danzig right then! Enter Luke Danzig who underestimated The Red Saint as he tried to take out the masked man no sooner entering the ring … but Saint has been able to travel the world for a reason, of which he immediately showed off to the BWP and the watching GM.
Red Saint made light work for the Danzig Brother, locking in his patented signature move to KO the Brand member for the 1-2 ……… before the ref could hit the 3 count, Winterz ordered the match to be halted. Seeing what was happening before him, Sebastian D.Winterz then informed Saint that as it was Brand Night he would have to face both Danzig Bros in his debut match! Enter Craig Danzig, taking advantage of a disorientated Saint with his trademark stiff blows, then aided by his brother Luke, it seemed that the Saints debut was dampened and a win was far from grasp. Never discount somebody who has dominated countries such as Japan, Germany and America for so many years …. The Red Saints vast experience shone through as he quickly came back from what would keep most men on their knee’s … utilising the own momentum of the Danzigs to assist his own offensive plan. Saint locked in his ‘Red Alert’ finisher on both Danzigs at the same time, and placing his hands across the chests of both men for the 1-2..and an uninterrupted 3 count! The Red Saint picks up an impressive win in his opening bout for Britannia Wrestling Promotions!
An injured and rattled Jacob Israel then entered the ring following his surprise win over 3 other Rookie Division members earlier in the night, and after the brutal attack he sustained from The Brand following his victory. With his left knee heavily strapped up, and with an obvious uncomfortable hobble, Israel entered the ring to an applaude of appreciation from the BWP fans. Entering next, in his first title defence since winning the Rookie Championship Rumble back in November 201o, Togan.
The cool and calculated Togan looked Israel up and down, checking out the injured left wheel of his opposition. The bell rang and Togan immediately locked onto the leg of Israel, sending in as many hard hitting attacks on the knee as possible, sending a courageous and defiant Israel to the ground screaming in pain, referee Des Robinson looked on ready to stop the match. Israel tried his best, but the earlier match against Dr X, The Hangman and TVB took its toll, the attack from The Brand seemingly finished off any chances Israel may have had of putting up a reputable fight against Togan. Togan was quick to finish off Israel, eventually locking in a modified STF – although the ref called for the bell, credit is granted to Israel for not uttering the words ‘I Quit’ , who instead refused to give up and passed out in the process. The winner of this match by Knock-Out – and still Rookie Division Champion, Togan.
Up next was the big tag team match between Lord Graham Thomas III and his bodyguard Shaun ‘The Hammer’ Davis against Tommy Gunn and Sabotage. However it was revealed as Tommy entered the ring that Sabotage had been attacked backstage and had to be taken to the Countess of Chester hospital for immediate medical attention. Tommy stood in the centre of the ring, glaring at both the Hammer and his Lordship, looking at them as the guilty party for Sabotage not being present to fight alongside him. As resilient as ever, Tommy vowed to go on with only the crowds support in his corner – for the 3rd time in one night, we were to see a handicap match as Tommy took LGT and The Hammer on 2-on-1!
Lord Graham Thomas III seemed reluctant to get into the ring with the man who had beat him so many times before, instead he sent forth his bodyguard who stood toe to toe with Tommy Gunn in the centre of the ring, and Tommy stood face to naval with The Hammer!
Tommy could not, for all of his efforts and momentary hints of hope, fend off the brutal attacks of The Hammer. LGT stood on the ring apron with a grin on his face barking out orders to his 6′5″ MMA trained bodyguard. As The Hammer tossed Gunn around the ring like an adult throwing a child, once again someone from the BWP locker room looked on until he could no more, Jim ‘The Metal’ King invaded the ring to aid Gunn in his mission to get revenge for Sabotages brutal attack … Jim King stood in the corner of Tommy, a much welcomed odds-evener for the relentless Gunn.
Jim and Tommy battled back – even tempting LGT into the ring long enough to make him flee to the outside with his tail between his legs leaving his bodyguard The Hammer to take care of business. Even with the tides turned, The Hammer managed to fend of the attack of the firey Jim King and KO Gunn with a breath taking single handed chokeslam! As Gunn lay flat out on the canvas, The Hammer locked on an MMA style arm lock, enough for the ever-ready Tommy Gunn to tap out as he gave out roars of pain … with the decision set, Hammer refused to release the arm lock – applying more and more pressure each time referee Des Robinson attempted to get him to break the move.
Eventually Lord Graham Thomas instructed The Hammer to release the move, and as LGT and The Hammer celebrated in the ring, commentator ‘Classic’ Ciaran McConnell announced that the referee’s decision was that Shaun ‘The Hammer’ Davis refused to break the arm lock when told to by the ref, therefore the team of Lord Graham Thomas and Shaun ‘The Hammer’ Davis had been disqualified, therefore the winner of the match by DQ, ‘Rapid Fire’ Tommy Gunn and his partner for the most part of the match, Jim ‘The Metal’ King! To say the least, LGT and The Hammer were not happy with the decision, the look on LGT’s face as he confronted his bodyguard were those of disgust as if to blame the big man for carrying out his instructions that led to them losing the match that they thought they had won before it even began!
THE MAIN EVENT of the evening was for the BWP World Catchweight Championship pitting current reigning and defending champion ‘The Lethal’ DCB against the winner of the No1 Contenders Match against LGT last November, The Babyfaced Pitbull. As Pitbull entered the ring to masses of support from the BWP fans hoping to see Pitbull wipe the smiles off The Brands faces, he entered a Brand surrounded ring … Pitbull took centre stage and one by one KO’d The Brand members who tried to enter the ring … with his attention on knocking big Cyanide off the ringside, DCB zoned in and attacked Pitbull from behind, sending him charging into the corner pads, only for DCB to be met by a rebounding clothesline, elbow and underhook suplex, the quickness of the Pitbull was more than DCB had obviously anticipated as he ran to the Brand ranks for aid, but this was not enough to hold back Pitbull who followed DCB out, took out The Brand with a series of lethal right hands, and then threw the Champ back into the ring for even more pain! Pitbull did not ease up on DCB, locking in suplex variation after suplex variation … following the final German suplex, Pitbull headed to the top – the BWP fans knew what was next for the powerhouse as he launched himself airborne and brought himself crashing down into a diving headbutt onto the body of DCB.
The crowd climaxed as Pitbull lay on top of DCB as referee Des Robinson hit the 1.2…… DJ King dived into the ring breaking up in an inevitable winning 3 count for the Pitbull! Pitbull had had enough of The Brands interference and decided to take matters into his own hands as he dived out of the ring to take on each and every Brand member all by himself. Whilst Pitbull was battling the odd’s on the outside, DCB was recovering on the inside of the ring and sneakily crept up on Pitbull from behind as he was distracted by the Danzig Bros, sending Pitbull crashing onto the entrance stage … DCB lined up a dazed Pitbull for an ear popping and brain knocking enziguri. As the fans stood and chanted the his name, trying their best to boost his momentum, Pitbull got to his feet, but as he turned to locate his opponent DCB charged him on the stage in an attempt to hit what seemed to be a spear … the quick thinking Pitbull sidestepped DCB and hip tossed him straight off the stage and crashing down through the surrounding tables on the venue floor!
As the audience went crazy at the sight of this explosive match, Pitbull saw an opening, and dragged DCB’s unconscious body to the ring and threw him back into the ring in what was surely to be, for the second time in this match, a guaranteed 3 count for Pitbull. Unfortunately for him, The Brand were back up on their feet and managed to grab Pitbull before he could cover their Champion, and they attacked him on the outside of the ring …. until …. several BWP Superstars including Jim King, The Red Saint, ‘Classic’ Ciaran McConnell, D Mac. Jacob Israel, TVB and Corey E stormed the ringside to fend off The Brand – sick of their antics and actions throughout the night, the BWP and Rookie Division united in favor of outing The Brand.
Referee Des Robinson looked on in a complete state of confusion at the mayhem that was happening on the outside of the ring … the only thing he could do is to count of the Superstars who were involved in the match itself … one problem being that one of those Superstars were already in the ring, unconscious and oblivious to what was happening around him, but present in the ring was DCB! As the referee’s slow count to 10 fell on deaf ears, Des Robinson had no choice but to call for the final bell as he counted out The Babyfaced Pitbull who was still scrapping on the outside of the ring.
Des Robinson helped DCB to his feet in the ring and presented him with his ’successfully’ defended belt, the look on even DCB’s face was that of complete shock that he had retained his title! Before he had chance to question the win, DJ King dragged DCB from the ring and carried him to the safety of the entrance stage where all Brand members slowly and sluggishly gathered following the battering they sustained from the BWP/Rookie Division unit … DCB may not have looked like a Champion as he was propped up by fellow Brand members, but officially he was the winner and still the BWP World Catchweight Champion as The Babyfaced Pitbull and the BWP looked on from the ring.
