BWP Vault – This Time In BWP History

vault2

January 22nd 2010 – Abergele, North Wales – a sold out crowd went wild for the 1st ever innovative idea of BWP Tag Team Turmoil.

All matches, bar the BWP World Catchweight Championship match, were tag team based.  This was the show that shelved current BWP General Manager Sebastian D.Winterz following an attack during his match by ‘The Lethal’ DCB, who seriously injured Sebs shoulder and rendering him unable to finish him match, costing his partner, The G Man (representing The Justice Circle) the win as the 2010 Tag Team of the Year winners Shockwave picked up the victory following an impressive bout.

Also in action was the young duo known as Storm, Element and Demoni – they took on the Word Association, represented by Lord Graham Thomas and Marcus King, with Rudy Wynne at ringside.  The W.A. made light work of the gutsy young duo, and took home a win with ease.

Zack n Jack Attack beat the New TranSiberian Express in a fast paced, high energy match.

Later in the night all tag teams would enter into the Lethal Lottery – where the BWP Nation decided their fate as partners were temporarily separated and forced to team with the enemy in a massive 12 man elimination match.

But before the main event could take place, there was the small matter of the BWP World Catchweight Championship match pitting Champion ‘The Lethal’ DCB Vs Brad Matthews, hand selected by then General Manager Rudy Wynne.  Not only did Rudy hand select his Champions opponent, he also had referee Tom Ball removed from the ring to make way for his own referee, Phil Race.  From start to finish Phil Race favoured the Champ and was hard on the challenger.  Brad Matthews’ only chance of survival, and BWP gold, was to depend on his killer MMA instincts and battle back against all of the odds stacked against him.

In a twist of fate, Phil Race got KO’d, ironically by the hands of DCB, Matthews took his opportunity to open up on the Champ whilst the corrupt ref was down and out and locked in a MMA style rear sleeper.  As DCB was visibly fading at the hands of the MMA fighter, referee Tom Ball stormed back to the ring to take over from Phil Race who was still on the floor, Tom hit the ring just in time to witness DCB tapping out to Brad Matthews!

As the BWP Nation stood and watched in complete shock as Brad Matthews paraded in the ring with his new BWP title, Rudy Wynne interrupted the celebrations informing the BWP Nation and Brad Matthews that Tom Ball was not the officially appointed referee and that Brad Matthews had won the match using an illegal choke move, therefore the match was nil and void – declaring DCB as the winner by disqualification and still BWP World Catchweight Champion!

Following the massive screwjob came the Lethal Lottery match.  All tag team participants from the evenings events entered the ring, minus an injured Seb Winterz who had been replaced by fellow Justice Circle member Jim ‘The Metal’ King.  Referee Tom Ball selected 12 random audience members to select random numbers that would decide which wrestlers would team together in the 12 man elimination match.

The teams were decided at random to be:

Team A
The G-Man
Lord Graham Thomas
Element
Demoni
Zack Diamond
Springbok

Vs

Team B
Phoenix
Jim ‘The Metal’ King
Marcus King
The Motivator
Jack Lightening
Night Stalker

As friends were separated and enemies for the forced to rally together, this match was full of back and forth action both in the ring an on the aprons!  As team mates refused to get along or co-operate with each other, eliminations came thick and fast.

The end of the match came when the dysfunctional brothers Jim and Marcus King were the final 2 members of Team B – Lord Graham Thomas was the only member remaining on Team A.  Marcus King and LGT were both members of Word Association, Jim and Marcus had an ongoing personal saga that prevented the 2009 Tag Team of the Year winners from working aside each other once more.  Marcus turned on Jim to favour his W.A. team mate, but Jim outsmarted both men, KO’ing Marcus and LGT and then dragging LGT on top of his own partner and brother to have him eliminated!

Jim King and LGT stood nose to nose and battled it out to be crowned the winner of the Lethal Lottery.  It seemed that LGT had the win on a couple of occasions, but Jims massive home crowd support clearly helped to motivate The Metal as he took out his lordship to gain the win, as the last man standing in what was a gruelling and extremely testing main event, and an excellent ending to the innovative Tag Team Turmoil show.

Next month, in Denbigh Town Hall on Saturday 26th February Britannia Wrestling Promotions proudly bring back Tag Team Turmoil II, this time to crown the 1st ever BWP Tag Team Champions in a humungous tag team knockout tournament.

TVB – Last Rookie Standing

tvb

The BWP Rookies Division kicked off another BWP show at Championship Showdown II with the Rookie Rumble. All Rookies were in the ring at the same time, and as the bell rang they clashed in what was an excellent show of talent, skill, enthusiasm and passion as each competitor was aiming to stamp their own personal mark not only on the Rookie Division – but also on Britannia Wrestling Promotions.

‘The Italian Stallion’ TVB stood tall and mighty at the end of the Rookie Rumble, haven fended off the likes of Angelito, Togan, Corey E, Liam Marshall as well as the rest of the BWP Rookies – TVB and Dr X literally took it to the edge as the final two men in the rumble as they balanced on the edge of the ring as they pounded each others heads in an attempt to get their opponent to drop the venue floor. The Italian Stallion outlasted the mysterious and fairly odd Dr X and was declared the first ever winner of the first ever BWP Rookie Rumble!

But TVB’s celecrations were short lived, as Mike Minus and a few of the BWP Rookies re-entered the ring … To read more about what went on after this match ended, click here

Rookies Divided

divide

The BWP Rookie Division is a new initiative of BWP Founder Steve Saxon … an opportunity for the newer and younger wrestlers to be able to make a name for themselves and try to climb their way up the BWP ranks. At BWP Championship Showdown II the first ever Rookie Rumble took place, but not before something else ‘new’ was unveiled.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing to you the ‘managing excellence’ that is Mike Minus! Minus stood centre stage and informed the BWP Rookies that the lucky winner of the Rookie Rumble would not only stamp their name in history but would also gain his services as their manager! This notion seemed to echo a chorus of disapproving moans from the BWP fans … as the bell rang, the Rookies stormed straight into action as they battled it out in complete mayhem until TVB was crowned the last man standing and winner.

Mike Minus entered the ring applauding the efforts and skills of the Rumble winner, and then verbally congratulated him on his momentous victory and more importantly, on winning the services of Mike Minus! TVB thanked Mike for his offer but declined it none the less, stating that he doesn’t need his, nor anybodies help to get to the top of the BWP!!

As the fans roared with applause for the Rookie sensation, Minus was irate and informed TVB that he had made the biggest mistake of his life by crossing him, this was followed by a stubble-removing slap courtesy of Minus to TVB. As TVB quickly shook off the unexpected assault by Minus, several BWP Rookies entered the ring again and took TVB out before he had chance to get any form of retaliation on Minus for his slap.

Jacob Israel, Dr X, Togan, Element & Charliee Quinn beat down TVB as Minus stood over them barking out instructions … followed by Mike Minus addressing the Rhyl crowd again, informing them that the BWP Rookie Division was now under his control and that everybody had better take what they had just seen happen to TVB as a warning that NOBODY crosses Mike Minus!

Pitbull Out of Action

Monday, July 26th, 2010

pitbull

BWP Superstar and MMA Fighter, Babyface Pitbull, has been injured in a sanctioned MMA fight and has been declared unfit to fight in neither wrestling or MMA matches until further notice.

Little is known about the injury at this time, however we have been informed by Pitbull that whilst he won’t be out of action for long, he unfortunately will not be able to cash in on his place in the quickly approaching Sure Shot Challenge 6 Man Ladder Match!

BWP Founder Steve Saxon immediately declared that the vacated spot of Babyface Pitbull will be filled at BWP Unholy Reunion II on Wednesday 4th August in Abergele, North Wales. Saxon had earlier stated that DJ King and El Destello would battle it out to name what was then to be the 6th and final place in the Sure Shot Challenge, but has now declared that there will be a Battle Royale at the end of the very same show, the winner of which will fill the vacated Babyface Pitbull spot.

How will this affect D Mac, AC Kage, Sean Phoenix and Tommy Gunn? One thing that they can bank on is that they know that either DJ King or El Destello will be joining them in what will be an epic and history making event next month, but who the final entrant may now be is a complete mystery!

lastchance

Both DJ King and El Destello have recently lost their chances to be entered into the Sure Shot Challenge Match scheduled for next month – but they both get their final shots at getting into the massive main event. BWP Founder Steve Saxon stated that both men had shown great determination despite their unfortunate losses, so he has granted them both a final chance – but with every positive there is a negative as DJ King and El Destello will have to compete in a Street Fight match in order to qualify!

Both BWP Superstars have had their fair share of classic hardcore battles with other wrestlers over the years, but never have they met in a match together where the rule book is thrown out of the window!

DJ King has been gaining momentum as of late which the BWP fans have noticed and jumped behind the fun loving King! However it seems since losing his BWP Championship in March this year, El Destello has been on a severe losing streak … will this favor the mentality of both men on their way into this battle?

Unholy Reunion II – Beat The Clock Challenge

Monday, July 26th, 2010

beattheclock

Following their two recent, and epic encounters against each other, both BWP Champion Lord Graham Thomas and Jim ‘The Metal’ King will now battle it out in a Beat The Clock Challenge at BWP Unholy Reunion II on Wednesday 4th August.

Both men will meet a BWP Rookie Division wrestler … both LGT and King have to try and overcome their opponents in the quickest time possible to win the challenge – the winner gets to name the stipulation for their ‘rubber match’ to take place at Rhyl Little Theatre on Saturday 28th August.

Jim ‘The Metal’ King will face off against BWP Rookie Togan, who is expected to have Mike Minus at ringside for this encounter that could make a name for the BWP Rookie.

The champion, Lord Graham Thomas will face off with popular Rookie Wade Wilson … will Wade be able to make the most of this opportunity in a none-title match?

BWP Superstar Interview: Seb Winterz

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

SEBWINTERZ

Hells Bells (HB) says: I’m talking with Sebastian D Winterz who was brutally attacked by El Destello at the recent Tag Team Turmoil in Abergele.

Hello Seb.

Seb Winterz (SW) says: Hey Helen.

HB says: I’m fine thanks but unfortunately the same cannot be said for you. I’m sure all your fans will want to know, how is your shoulder?

SW says: Where to start? I have a broken scapula and humerus.

The bruising still hasn’t gone down and the doctors think the damage done may have finished my wrestling career.

HB says: That is awful news Seb. When do you think you will know for sure?

SW says: Not for a while, before physio can begin, I have to heal, it’s only then that I will know the extent of the damage and whether or not the motor functions in my shoulder and arm will return to normal.

HB says: That must be affecting your life. How are you managing with your day to day life?

SW says: Well with only one arm it’s pretty much halved the amount of things I can do. I can do the essentials but the nursing staff here are very helpful with everything else I need doing

HB says: You mention nursing staff – are you still in hospital?

SW says: I have been put into a private hospital at the expense of The Sax Man, so I am being very well looked after in order to prompt a speedy recovery.

HB says: That’s very good of him and of course you deserve the best after the way you were treated during that match.

How do you now feel towards El Destello?

SW says: El Destello did what he did because he is a coward. To be honest I should have expected something like this, I mean it wouldn’t be the first time he’s done this to me. A bigger man would have looked me in the eye first.

HB says: Well unfortunately we all know what sort of person El Destello is and I doubt he will change, his cowardice runs too deep but you are the opposite, very forthright and honest and I’m sure everyone would like to know, health permitting do you intend to have this out with him in the future?

SW says: I will be back in the ring as soon as I get the all clear. I am coming for El Destello and the title!

HB says: It would be good to have the title back in the hands of a true champion and I hope that you recover sufficiently to follow that through.

In Abergele you were helped by Jim King, have you seen him since that night.

SW says: Of course, both Jim and the G-Man have been to see me numerous times since Abergele. Both came with gifts, Jim with some books and magazines, and G-Man brought me a very risque looking fruit basket.

HB says: Haha – that sounds like G-Man. I’m glad you have had such support and they really are nice guys.

Do you have any advice for Jim as he heads for the 4 way contender match at Denbigh?

SW says: Of course I have advice for him, nothing is better when celebrating a victory like a mango smoothie and a McDonalds. In regards to the actual match then no I have no advice to shell out.

Jim is a member of the Justice Circle, the most elite wrestling faction in the history of the business. He has the skill and speed to pull off a convincing victory which will bring him within touching distance of the BWP’s greatest treasure.

I know Jim. He will have certainly formulated a game plan.

HB says: I sincerely hope he has as he will need it against three such big fellow wrestlers as Pitbull, Iron Duke and Andy Baker but if anyone is up for the challenge then ‘The Metal’ certainly is.

Do you think you will be able to come and watch any of the shows in your current condition?

SW says: I have been advised not to, even as a member of the crowd I would still be a potential target in a vulnerable state it would only cause a burden upon my good friends. It’s in everyone’s best interests if I spend the time to recuperate.

All except El Destellos of course and the rest of Rudy Wynne’s pathetic rag tag crew of morons.

HB says: A very valid point Seb and Rudy and his minions will of course celebrate this turn of events but as you say, you need to spend the time to recover so that you can return to the BWP.

Well I hope that the doctors have good news for you in the near future and make sure you keep up with the physio.

I’m sure all of the fans wish you well. Is there anything you would like to say to them before we finish.

SW says: To my fans, I will return before you know it and I will quickly take my frozen throne atop the BWP roster.

HB says: That is excellent Seb and I’m sure the fans will be pleased to here it. Any message for your JC friends?

SW says: Jim, Game plan, take your time. Think of nothing but your own match. I am fine and I am already in the best of care.

Speaking of which its sponge bath time, 4th one today. God bless you Sax Man

HB says: Haha – well you have to enjoy yourself as much as you can with your injuries and I bet the nurses don’t mind really. Thanks for speaking with me today and I hope your recovery goes smoothly. I’ll leave you now as I’m sure that those nurses are definitely keen to get to you.

SW says: Haha. Thanks.

Superstar Interview: Brad Matthews

BRADMATTHEWS
Hells Bells (HB) says
: Hello everyone, I’m here tonight with MMA fighter Brad Matthews.

Hello Brad.

Brad Matthews (BM) says: Hiya Helen how’s it going?

HB says: Fine thanks Brad.

You had an excellent match last Saturday ignoring the ending of course. How do you feel the match itself went?

BM says: The match itself went great. I think there was a lot of back and forth action but I stuck to my game plan even though I was out numbered.

HB says: How did you feel about Rudy allowing UnaMannera to be present during the match and of course the new referee Phil Race?

BM says: To be honest I was glad UnaMannera was allowed to stay at ring side. I’m always up for a fight with a bigger guy but the new ref Phil Race was clearly playing favourites with the Word Association which made it a lot harder. I didn’t see the point really, Tom may be a good friend but he still would have called the match straight down the middle and no matter what the outcome I’d have respected it.

HB says: I totally agree Brad. Tom would always remain impartial but of course Rudy thought otherwise and as GM was able to bring in Phil as a substitute.

How did you feel when you thought you had beaten Catchweight Champion El Destello with that well executed choke hold?

BM says: Thought!….I did beat the Catchweight Champion El Destello.

I made him tap like a little school girl on a Saturday night. I was over the moon when the bell rang and Tom raised my hand and G-man gave me the belt that I deserved.

HB says: And then the bombshell that Rudy had overturned Tom’s decision.

What is your opinion of that?

BM says: That was a dirty move Rudy did, he knew I made El Destello tap fair and square but he had to dig deep to find a reason to overturn Tom’s decision and if you look over the rules of wrestling the choke I won with is a legal move in both MMA and WRESTLING and the other reason he used as well that Tom wasn’t the official for our match, well I’m sure it would have been ok if it was the other way round. Wouldn’t it? Rudy?

HB says: I’m sure you’re right Brad and we will have to see if Rudy responds to that point.

This has obviously left you feeling cheated of your rightful title as Catchweight Champion, so what are your plans going to be for your future in the BWP?

BM says: Yes you’re right to assume I feel cheated. I deserved that. I’ve bled and broken bones for it but after being cheated like that I’m not sure if I want to continue in the BWP.

I’m thinking of moving into full-time MMA where everyone seems to have respect for one another but we shall see what happens after the talks with Mr Saxon.

HB says: Have you already spoken to The Sax Man about this and explained how you feel?

BM says: Yes we have had a few discussions over it and he understands how I feel about it but our talks are continuing for another few days so nothing is set in stone just yet. If The Sax Man did manage to persuade me to stay I can tell you Destello will need more than the Word Association to protect him from me.

HB says: I’m sure El Destello needs to beware whatever your decision.

BM says: I’m sure he will find out one way or another.

HB says: I’m sure he will and is there anything you would like to say direct to Rudy, who after all is the person holding El Destello’s puppet strings and the person truly responsible for Saturdays Screw-job?

BM says: Yes….Rudy. For now you’re in control of the BWP locker-room but that won’t always be the case and as soon as your puppets have realised that you’re using them I will be waiting to take my revenge.

HB says: Well said Brad. We will wait to hear your decision about your future after you have spoken to The Sax Man and in the meantime I wish you well in your MMA matches and let’s hope that this disgusting travesty has not ruined your love of wrestling permanently.

BM says: Thanks Helen.

HB says: And thanks Brad for agreeing to talk to me this evening

BM says: I’m glad I did. I got a lot of things off my chest.
