Matthews thanked BWP Founder Steve Saxon for the support that he has shown him towards and during the training and absence from the BWP ring.  The Sax Man later stated that he was ‘delighted and thrilled that the intense training that Brad had endured over recent months had paid off and has now taken that next step up to super stardom in both worlds of Pro Wrestling and MMA fighting’.  

Saxon also noted that the support and encouragement that he has given Matthews is something that will continue, and that ‘The Knock-Out‘ will be on hand at the forthcoming Rhuddlan & Swansea shows.

UPDATE (19 April 09) 

Brad Matthews today competing in his debut MMA fight in the UK.  Unfortunately the overall decision was against Matthews as he lost to his opponent ‘Dom’ by referee’s decision as he had Matthews locked into a deadly triangle chock – but not without before putting up a hard fought match, leaving the spectators and officials pleasantly optomistic towards Brad Matthews.  Details of Matthews‘ next match will be posted on the BWP website as soon as they are released.
