FRIDAY 4th FEBRUARY 2011 Jim ‘The Metal’ King entered the ring in what he thought would be a one on one encounter with his 2nd opponent, hand selected by BWP General Manager Sebastian D.Winterz, but the match went on to be a gauntlet of matches and emotions.
From the offset Zero attacked King with his fast fists and fierce feet – to the point that referee Des Robinson disqualified Zero for not letting go off King following a concussion he sustained. The confused crowd, and Jim King, had no time to digest the result before Sebastian D.Winterz informed both the Saltney crowd & Jim King that he had Jims 3rd and final hand selected opponent ready to go, right there – right then! Winterz went on to say ‘who better to beat you than the only man that you have never beaten’ – his very own older brother Marcus King!
As the sounds of the vanquished Marcus Kings entrance music played throughout the Saltney Tavern all eyes were targeted to the entrance stage … and as they were, Zero re-entered the ring and stood behind a shaken, groggy and shocked Jim King, and then proceeded to remove his mask to unveil the face of Jims brother Marcus King!!
As The Brand stood amused on the entrance stage signalling for The Metal to turn around and look behind him, the realisation of yet another Brand set-up came across the face of the former BWP Champion … turning to face his brother, Jim was immediately at the hands of yet another brutal beating from his brother Marcus.
In an unexpected scene from BWP history, Jim & Marcus King locked horns and literally went blow for blow in a match of skill, talent, revenge and resolution. Jim and Marcus’s past battles always ended in victory for the older brother, something Jim has never been able to shake off his otherwise impeccable BWP record – Marcus was fired from the BWP back in May 2010 (along with ‘The Word’ Rudy Wynne) at the hands of Steve Saxon & Jim King, although Saxon took the win by making Wynne tap out in a figure four leglock – a clean win/loss record Marcus may have over his younger sibling – but being the King of Kings he can not boast.
Fortunately for Jim the fans rallied behind him giving a much needed boost to his momentum as Marcus seemed to be the more dominating of the brothers following the GM’s shock revelation. Jim managed to outwit his brother and zone in on his weaknesses, weaknesses that Jim knew better than anybody else, taking home
BWP Admin caught up Jim ‘The Metal’ King following his match in Saltney, he had made the following comments:
‘On Friday night I was screwed, I suffered a concussion at the hands of Sebastian Winterz, and lost an opportunity to face him 1 on 1 at 100% … Justice has yet to be served … that changes in Denbigh!’
