pbcjPWI:BWP WORLD CATCHWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
‘The Juice’ CJ Banks (c) Vs The  Babyface Pitbull

The opening bout of the evening was for the big one as current Champion CJ Banks squared off with former Champ the Pitbull in what was set to be a classic encounter until both Superstars were visciously attacked by The Brand before a winner could be determind.  The Brand took out both Champion and Challenger before informing the crowd that they were once again taking over the evenings proceedings and would be taking the charity proceeds with them!  BWP Owner Steve Saxon took clear exception to these actions as he put The Brand in a BWP Tag Team Championship Match later that night against none other than the two men they had just attacked – CJ Banks and The Babyface Pitbull!!  Saxon also stated that in the interest of fairness, he would appoint a Special Guest Referee who would be impartial, fair and would not be afraid to ’slap the smirks from off The Brands faces if they stepped out of line’ – that Special Guest Referee, was himself – Steve Saxon!!  The Brand were left seething, and Banks and Pitbull were left a little beat up and even more so confused.

Steve Saxon also announced that Pitbull and Banks would get their opportunity to finish their fight on Saturday 03 March at BWP Fight Night as it would be The Babyface Pitbull Vs CJ Banks in a PWI:BWP World Catchweight Championship rematch!

Winner of the Match: No Contest – therefore still PWI:BWP World Catchweight Champion ‘The Juice’ CJ Banks

ciarandeanDean MacManus Vs ‘Classic’ Ciaran McConnell

Seeking retaliation for his tag team partners injury at the hands of The Brands Dean MacManus several months ago, Ciaran McConnell took it to the big man with the army of fans behind him.  Dean MacManus is no easy task for any man though, and on a couple of occassions looked to have the victory clenched, until a mistake from Dean allowed the Classic one to quickly, and cleverly, lock in the figure 4 leg lock to his nemesis forcing MacManus to utter those words ‘I quit’.

Winner of this Match: ‘Classic’ Ciaran McConnnell

wintersmorganBWP ROOKIE DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Craig Winters (c) Vs Marc Morgan

The ‘Ultra Violent’ Craig Winters defended his Rookie Division Championship against the debuting Marc Morgan who put on an impressive display of speed, agility and guts against the down and out tramp that is Craig Winters.  Morgan battle through the stench of Ultra Violence and put the Champ on his back on numerous occasions, even threatening Winters to the point that he thought that he was losing grip of his prescious Championship belt – and ended the match on his terms, with a stiff running kick to the balls of Marc Morgan – intentionally carried out in front of referee Des Robinson who immediately disqualified the Rookie Champion, meaning that he retained the title and was about to leave Saltney Tavern a happy man – until Steve Saxon made an apperance once again – not a happy Owner at all!  Saxon declared that he was ’sick and tired’ of Winters attitude as of late, and he would not allow this controversy to continue – Saxon then apologised to the referee for over ruling his DQ decision, because Saxon then ordered the match to restart as a No Holds Barred match!

An irate Craig Winters and his valet Stacey Rose dragged themselves back to the ring – Winters heckled the BWP Owner before laying out Marc Morgan with the Rookie Division Championship belt as a reluctant Des Robinson made the 3 count!  Craig Winters laughed in the face of Steve Saxon and prepared to make his way back to the locker room – but a seething Steve Saxon was not going to have ‘that kind of scum’ in his locker room, and kicked Winters and Rose out of the front door of Saltney Tavern to the freezing Welsh weather!

The Winner of the Match: Craig Winters – still BWP Rookie Division Champion

joeyzackZack Gibson Vs Joey Starr

This match was everything it was expected to be on paper, and some!  Joey Starr and Zack Gibson are without a doubt two of the best Wrestlers in Britain at the moment, both with big futures in this business.  They locked up together with more or less equal stats and records and they gave the live crowd their money’s worth of action in their match alone!  Back and forth, hard hitting, adrenaline fueled action throughout – Joey had the Saltney crowd behind him from the offset as Gibson paraded to the ring to the sounds of You’ll Never Walk Alone, clad in his Liverpool FC attire – making it known to the majority of Man Utd fans present that he was overjoyed with the earlier football result between the two Northern teams (Liverpool beat Man Utd 2-1).

Although Joey’s efforts were admirable and hard fought, they were not enough to keep down Zack Gibson who managed to hit his patented ‘Soccer Kick’ to Starr’s face for the 1-2-3.

The Winner of the Match: Zack Gibson

BWP TAG TEAM No1 CONTENDERS MATCH
Jim ‘The Metal’ King & Immortal Yidster Vs The Wild Boys

Best friends Jim ‘The Meta’ King and The Immortal Yidster set to go 2-on-2 against The Wild Boys – but before the wrestling action went down, Yidster had a challenge for his opponents, in the form of a dance off!  The Saltney crowd cheered, applauded and laughed at the not so smooth moves that the Immortal one pulled out of the bag – and I think that every single person in the venue were gobsmacked by the double-act dance moves from The Wild Boys, clearly not the first time that they had  been in that position!

When  the match finally started the vast experience of tag team wrestling immediately gave Dylan Roberts and Danny Valentine the upper hand and they made a number of quick tags back and forth to stay on top of Yidster and King.  Then, as Jim King seemed to have control of the match having taken down both Wild Boys with a series of lethal knee and kick strikes, there seemed to be a little miscommunication between Yidster and Jim King as King hit the ropes to perform his final Mafia Kick finish, Yidster was on the outside apron and both fan favourites clashed heads – sending Yidster flying to the venue floor and took the wind out of the sails of The Metal long enough for the Wild Boys to take advantage and get a sneaky 3 count for the win!

Following the match King and Yidster were seen to be having words in the ring as The Wild Boys strutted their stuff back to the locker room.  As all seemed to be sorted and forgiven between the Immortal Yidster and his best friend Jim King, The Metal delivered a knock out mafia kick to Yidster, ripped his yellow vest off him and screamed in his face that ‘I do not wear your stupid clothes or come to the ring to your stupid music’ – the shocked fans and BWP crew members looked on completely stunned as Jim removed his trademark Captain armband and rammed it into his apparently former best friends face as he left the ring to a chorus of boo’s and hiss’s.

Winners of the Match: The Wild Boys

mainBWP TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The Brand (c) Vs CJ Banks & The Babyface Pitbull
Special Guest Referee: Steve Saxon

In a match that Steve Saxon set at the opening of the evening, CJ Banks and Babyface Pitbull were forced to try and forget their differences for a short time to try and take down The Brand and ‘bring home the gold’ as Saxon stated.  The Brand could not be prepared for a match of this calibre, having to defend their titles against two of the purest and finest wrestlers in Great Britain today, The Brand must have laid their hopes on Pitbull and Banks crumbling from within.  Another upset before the bell was rung was that Steve Saxon ordered ‘the little skank’ Stacey Rose to be banned from ringside along with all other Brand members – as the chant of ’skank’ echoed the through the venue, Miss Rose fled Saltney leaving her Tag Team Champions looking rather annoyed.

The Brand worked as a close unit as always, zoning in on their opponents and keeping them grounded – as best as they could on this instance – CJ Banks and Pitbull, although on the same team were far from on the same page.  They blind tagged each other in and out of the ring throughout the entire match, visually and audibly taunting each other as they set to trying to bring down the mighty Brand combo.  The Brand took advantage of the fact that CJ Banks and Babyface Pitbull could not, or would not, work together – individually both fighters tried to take down The Brand – a task that is near impossible for any individual man, slowly The Brand picked away at their opponents … until a arrogant Cyanide took his eye off the ball for a split second as he prepared to hit a Toxic-Bomb on Pitbull from the middle rope – Pitbull siezed this window of opportunity and locked Cyanide into a earth moving powerbomb!!  The ring shook as the 25 stone Tag Team Champion crashed down upon it, the fans were going crazy for Pitbull to make the winning pin – but then out of knowehere CJ Banks hit his running knee finisher on his tag team partner and at the same time landing on top of Cyanide in a senton splash – with Pitbull thrust to the outside and DJ King laid out on the venue floor all that was remaining to do was for Des Robinson to hit the 1-2-3 count!!!  The PWI:BWP World Catchweight Champion CJ Banks and the 2011 Wrestler of the Year The Babyface Pitbull are the NEW BWP Tag Team Champions in an amazing twist of fate!!!

CJ Banks grabbed his newly won Tag Team Championship title, along with his Catchweight title and left his tag team partner in the ring a little upset over what CJ had done to him, but non-the-less happy to once again be holding BWP gold!  It will be interesting to see the Tag Team Champions battle it out once more on 03 March at BWP Fight Night for CJ’s PWI:BWP World Catchweight Championship!

The Winners of this Match: CJ Banks & The Babyface Pitbull – NEW BWP Tag Team Champions

At the end of the match a furious DJ King cornered Steve Saxon and was about to strike his boss – not a wise move – however Steve Saxon (a former wrestler for almost 15 years) managed to avoid Kings left hook, and delivered a knockout enziguri to the former Tag Team Champion before leaving the ring to a huge ovation.

rumble
Every Britannia Wrestling Promotions Superstar on hand hit the ring for the rumble Main Event.  Immediately Cyanide vented his frustrations by powerbombing, slamming and pumbling the young Rookies before several BWP Superstars managed to topple the big man over the top rope to the venue floor!  Now the big risk was gone, the Superstars battled it out to claim the honour of being the last man standing.  15 minutes later there were just two men remaining, in another twist of fate it would be Joey Starr and Zack Gibson!  The crowd were red hot behind Starr who delivered a series of hard hitting finishers on Gibson, finished off by a lovely Peoples Elbow – Zack Gibson looked as if he didn’t know which country he was in as he managed to scramble back to his feet – jelly-legged and dazzled by the moves of Joey Starr – Joey paraded around the ring waiting for Gibson to find his bearings, and as soon as he did, Joey Starr tossed Zack Gibson over the top rope and down to the venue floor for the win!

The Winner of the Match: Joey Starr

El Generico

Moments after the match as the Babyface Pitbull returned to the dressing rooms, ‘The Juice’ CJ Banks hit the ring and smashed the Saxons Sure Shot briefcase over the skull of El Generico – immediately cashing in his guaranteed title match with Senior BWP Referee Des Robinson – however CJ’s hopes of  quick win were squashed as the Generic Luchador fought back to the sounds and roars of the fans.  Quick, hard and exhausting back and forth action until CJ Banks delivered a double dose of his lethal trademark running knee strike, securing the upset win over the now former Champion.

The fans and ringside Officials looked on in disbelief, and an element of disgust as ‘The Juice’ CJ Banks walked away from the BWP Ffrith Beach Arena with as the new, NEW PWI:BWP World Catchweight Champion!

As Officials checked over a stunned Generico, the fans showed their support for the visiting Trans-Atlantic Superstar who left the Arena to a standing round of applause.

The Brand Win Tag Team Gold

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

brandtag

After months of chasing the BWP Tag Team Championships, The Brands DJ King & Cyanide finally got their hands on the prestigious title belts last weekend at BWP Denbigh Town Hall Brawl III following yet another epic encounter with now-former Tag Team Champions, The Classic Combo.

The Brand fell short the last time that they were in action in Denbigh in February as they were knocked out of the Tag Team Turmoil tournament by the team that would eventually go on to win the tournament and become the 1st ever tag team champions, Sabotage & Tommy Gunn.  Due to the premature breakup of Sab-Gunn, Classic Combo beat The Brand in Saltney, North Wales to be crowned the new BWP Tag Team Champions – since then, The Brand have been unable to outsmart the popular duo and have always fallen short – but not last weekend!

With Stacey Rose at ringside with them, the odd’s were once again stacked against the young Champions – not for the first time for sure, but this time the numbers game was clearly to much for the devious and dastardly duo of Cyanide and DJ King.

The Brand are now stronger than ever, with DJ & Cyanide as BWP Tag Team Champions, and Craig ‘Danzig’ Winters as BWP Rookie Division Champion – is it only a matter of time before this gang heads for PWI:BWP World Catchweight Champion The Babyface Pitbull?

Britannia Wrestling Promotions Presents
Championship Chase III

Saturday 09 July 2011 marked a momentous night in Britannia Wrestling Promotions history as it featured the first Inter-Promotional Championship Match, new Champions were made and legacies were formed  – and packed out Chester crowd were on fire!

As the familiar sound of the Britannia Wrestling Promotions Fanfare played to start the show – it was sourly interrupted by Futureshock Wrestling Champion Dave Rayne who had literally just arrived at the venue in his custom Winnebago, suited and booted with his gold perched proudly in his tight clutch.

Rayne went into a tirade of insults about Britannia Wrestling, its Wrestlers, Management and fans … even the venue got blasted by the arrogant and loose tongued Champion.  BWP Founder Steve Saxon seemingly had heard enough as he ordered for the audio connections to be cut as he and Senior Referee Des Robinson physically escorted an unwilling Dave Rayne from the ringside.

Vs
The Red Saint
WINNER BY PINFALL: The Red Saint

POST MATCH NOTES:
Brand members DJ King & Cyanide immediately set their sights on Saint, pinning the Japanese Masked Sensation down to the mat as Cyanide delivered an earth shattering big splash that could be heard in Saints native land.

As D Mac tried to pull The Brand away from Saint the familiar sounds gunshots filled the room grabbing the attention of The Brand – and allowing The Red Saint to roll out of the ring and to the aid of ringside BWP Crew members.  The interruption was caused of course by BWP Tag Team Champion ‘Rapid Fire’ Tommy Gunn who stood on the entrance way with both Tag Team Championship belts in his possession.

Gunn addressed the BWP fans as well as The Brand who remained in the ring, informing them all of the unfortunate and premature retirement of his tag team partner and fellow BWP Tag Team Champion, Sabotage.

Tommy then confirmed that therefore Sab-Gunn have no alternative but to vacate the BWP Tag Team Championship – but under two conditions, one being that Sab-Gunn would select two BWP tag teams to face off to crown the new champions, those teams would be The Brands DJ King & Cyanide against the highly popular Classic Combo!

The Brand were overjoyed with this news – until Tommy continued with the second stipulation of the vacated titles …. he would be the referee for the match!

With that said, Classic Combo hit the ring with Tommy Gunn leading the way – but for the first time in his BWP career, as referee!

Tommy then addressed the looming The Hammers Open Invitational Challenge that had been hyped online by The Hammer for several weeks heading up to the show.  Tommy said that he didn’t come to Chester to give his titles up and to declare new Tag Team Champions … he had come to fight, and if the only way that was possible that night is to accept The Hammers challenge – then he accepts!

The Hammer walked out behind Tommy Gunn, casting his mammoth shadow over the wrestling ace.  Smirk on his face, The Hammer told Tommy that he would see him later!

Steve Saxon Appoints NEW Co-GM

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

cogm

BWP Brawl4All started with BWP General Manager Sebastian D.Winterz parading in the ring with fellow Brand member Rudy Wynne – but it ended with Winterz having a ‘partner’ courtesy of the office BWP Founder Steve Saxon.  As Seb and Rudy opened the BWP show with their usual tirade of insults to the crowd and BWP Superstars and stating that once again Chester would witness a Brand dominated night, they were interupted by an unexpected and unwanted guest in the form of BWP announcer Oscar Lucas.

Oscar Lucas strutted to the ring, smile on his face, clutching a letter that had been passed onto him via Steve Saxon for the attention of the BWP’s General Manager – although the contents of the letter were not 100% disclosed, what was clear was that Sebastian D.Winterz and Rudy Wynne were not overly thrilled with what it stated as Winterz ripped the document up and threw it to the ground – but that did not matter, as Oscar Lucas proceeded to explain to the Chester fans, and the BWP Superstars, crew members and staff backstage – that Sebastian D.Winterz was no longer the General Manager of Britannia Wrestling Promotions – unfortunately he had not been fired from his post but he had gained a partner in the position of General Manager in the form of none other than the messenger Oscar Lucas!!

Oscar Lucas, who’s smile grew by the second, then set the pace for the evening … introducing the newest BWP Rookie to the Rookie Division and banning ALL Brand members, including Sebastian D.Winterz and Rudy Wynne from ringside during the BWP World Catchweight Championship match later in the night between Brand member ‘The Lethal’ DCB and The Red Saint.

Winterz clearly irate over the decision made by his boss Steve Saxon, left the ring ranting to himself, Rudy like the lapdog he is was shortly trotting behind him, also ranting and heckling the Chester crowd who uniformally sang ‘nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, goodbye’ to the now co-General Manager and Rudy Wynne.

So now BWP has 2 General Managers – Sebastian D.Winterz and Oscar Lucas – does this mean that The Brand can no longer abuse the power entrusted with Winterz?  Will Oscar Lucas be the man to stand up for the BWP and make it once again a level pegging playing field?  Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, BWP Admin are thrilled to have somebody who is as fan orientated as Oscar Lucas in charge … or at least 50% in charge of proceedings.

The BWP’s Rising Starr

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

risingstarr

BWP Brawl4All was a night of surprises for many BWP Superstars and BWP fans … for The Babyfaced Pitbull and The Red Saint one man took it upon himself to make a name for himself at their expense.

The Red Saint got his first chance at being crowned a BWP Champion as he battled BWP World Catchweight Champion ‘The Lethal’ DCB – seeing as The Brand were banished from ringside by newly appointed co-General Manager Oscar Lucas, The Saint got a fair chance at winning gold – and it seemed that he was just 3 seconds from doing so as he hit his signature Saintly-Slice manouvre on DCB for what should have been the winning 3 count, until out of the fans came Joey Starr who managed to drape the Champions right foot over the bottom rope in time to break referee Des Robinsons count.  As The Red Saint questioned the actions of Starr who skulked around ringside  - DCB resorted to tactics that are so engraved into his nature that they are second nature to him, grabbing his trusty kendo stick with the obvious intention of using on his opponent to regain the upper hand – but Des Robinson has refereed many, many DCB matches and is clearly quite aware of his antics as he blocked DCB from entering the ring with the stick … but things seemed to then unfold as Joey Starr entered the ring and hit The Red Saint with a stomach churning spear as the ref was distracted on the outside – DCB saw the opening made by Starr and slid into the ring, grabbed a handful of Saints tights and rolled him up for the 1-2-3 and the win!

As DCB waltzed away from the ring to the entrance stage, he and an awaiting Joey Starr laughed and celebrated together in an act of complete pre-arranged deceit, but this was not the final time we would see an unbooked Joey Starr that night.

Next up was the evenings main event – a 30 man over the top rope Brawl4All – the winner being officially named the No1 Contender to DCB’s World Catchweight Championship.  As 30 wrestlers entered the ring the final 2 men were The Brands Cyanide and The Babyfaced Pitbull.  In the closing seconds of the match it looked like Cyanide had eliminated Pitbull over the top rope, but Pitbull hung on for his life and re-entered the ring to blast the man-mountain with an amazing display of power and adversity as he hit a powerbomb from the top rope to the green-eyed monster followed by an amazing German suplex before sending the big man crashing over the top rope to the venue floor – as the crowd went exstatic for the Pitbull, the celebration was to be interupted as Joey Starr, from out of nowhere, hit Pitbull with a back breaking spinebuster and then set him up for what appeared to be his finisher the F5 – but Pitbull was not out yet, as he wriggled free of Starrs clutches and locked in an excellently executed fishermans suplex on Starr, who quickly vacated the ring to safety.  As Pitbull stood on the corner posts, to the deafening applauds of the Chester fans, Starr sent a clear message to Pitbull – he has arrived, and he wants the gold.

Although Pitbull got the better of Starr at the end of the Brawl4All – it can not go unrecognised that Starr made a big impact in Chester on 11th March, preventing Red Saint from what seemed a clean win over the Catchweight Champ, and attacking the No1 Contender – one thing is for sure, Joey Starr is a great talent on the UK wrestling scene right now, and he has his sights set on gold – BWP gold – and it seems that he will do anything it needs to get what he wants!
