Words of Warning

rudybrand

BWP Admin ran into ‘The Angel Investor of The Brand’, ‘The Word’ Rudy Wynne earlier this afternoon and asked a simple question, only to get war and peace as his response!  Here’s what Rudy Wynne had to say:

BWP Admin: Just over a week ago The Brand did not live up to your own hype – we have new BWP Tag Team Champions, and they are not The Brand. We have a new Rookie Champion, who is not The Brand – and many speculate that following BWP Brawl4All next Friday in Chester, that your Catchweight Champion ‘The Lethal’ DCB will not be able to overcome the impressive Red Saint. What do you have to say about this?

Rudy Wynne: Yes. The Brand may appeared to suffer setbacks two weeks ago. But wouldn’t you? I mean, we have had political setbacks in a number of key areas, oppressed by the ruthless BWP management. For one, TVB shouldn’t have been the #1 contender for the Rookie Championship, a Brand member should’ve been! You saw what happened in Chester? We destroyed the BWP! It was obviously done to protect their own interests. This time though, with Craig Danzig as number 1 contender (thanks to Sebastian D. Winterz), we will capture the Rookie Championship.

Sebastian D Winterz however has been oppressed in the tag team ranks. Why haven’t DJ King and Cyanide not #1 contenders for the title? Instead they have to face The Babyfaced Pitbull and the Returning Andy Baker. Both men may have traveled the world wrestling, but they have not traveled to our world, the Brand’s World and I’m sure that King & Cyandie will make Baker Boy & Pitbull’s “Glorious Return” to the BWP ring brief and painful.

And onto The Red Saint. Again this match was signed as non title, but all of a sudden DCB has to put the title on the line? This once again is the BWP management stacking the deck against the Brand.

But it needn’t matter. Come the end of Brawl for All in Chester this Friday night, not only will The Brand be in posession of the BWP World Catchweight Championship, we’ll also be in posession of the BWP Rookie Championship, The Brand will win the BWP Rumble as a unit, and we’ll be number one contenders for the BWP Tag Team Championship.

The Brand will finally break out of the BWP Dictatorship and will rightfully take their place on the top of the UK wrestling world. Mark. My. Words.

BWP’s Babyfaced Pitbull takes on TNA’s Taz

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Britannia Wrestling Promotions’ very own Babyfaced Pitbull recently returned from a weeks intensive training course in New York with TNA Wrestlings Taz at his new Finishing Camp.  Pitbull is the epitamy of an athlete as he has trained in numerous sports such as Greco Roman/Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Thai Boxing and of course professional wrestling.  Pitbull headed to the States for some training from a man that Pitbull related to on so many levels – The Human Suplex Machine Taz!

Pitbull had this to say about his trip to Taz’s Dojo:

“When I received the call from Taz notifying me my application to his exclusive Dojo had been accepted, I knew this would be a pivotal moment in my career.

Taz is someone I have long admired. He’s a former, Three-time, World Heavyweight Champion; He’s a wrestler of unquestionable calibre; He has a style, an intensity and a will to win like no one else – With the only possible exception of The Babyfaced Pitbull. I knew that he was exactly the type of person I needed to learn from –  a born winner, who knows what it takes to get to the top.

My expectations were high, and were not disappointed. On the contrary, they were superseded. I came out of an intense week of gruelling, physical and psychological training with bruises, aches and pains, but more importantly with confidence above and beyond a level of which I have ever known before: Confidence in my self, confidence in my abilities, and confidence in the fact that I had not merely made a trip across the ocean, but had made an investment  in my future and career.

Now I’m back in the UK and ready, now more than ever, to tear and claw my way to the top of the mountain, and prove that my investment was worth every penny. So if there was ever any doubt that the Babyfaced Pitbull’s bite was as bad as his bark before… his bite just got all the worse. So to the Brand, and any one else that might want to wander into the wrong yard uninvited, more than ever before, BEWARE… OF THE PITBULL!”

When asked to quote about The Babyfaced Pitbull, Taz wrote:

“I am very proud that Babyface Pitbull was our 1st UK wrestler to train in my Dojo in the US under yours truly!  He is a VERY hard worker along with a strong intensity level!”
–The Human Suplex Machine, Taz

The Babyfaced Pitbull has seen great success here in the UK, dominating not only Britannia Wrestling Promotions, but also Runcorn Wrestling Academy, the company that Pitbull began his pro-wrestling training.  He has scooped titles in the RWA and has been cheated of the BWP World Catchweight Championship on 2 separate occasions within the past month alone, but the rabid canine will not stop until he gets what he feels, along with many others, is HIS Championship title!

This Time in BWP History – March 2009

hist

This month we look back in BWP history at : SATURDAY 14TH MARCH 2009

LLANWRTYD WELLS, SOUTH WALES
welcome Britannia Wrestling Promotions to their Welsh village, home of legendary Texas Joe Salvoldi and his son, up and coming young wrestler Awesome Aaron Adams.  The hometown boys received a deafening reception from their own in what would be both of their final matches for the BWP.

Both men were entered into the 4 Man Parade match where the audience members selected who would face who – the winners of both matches would proceed onto a match with each other to declare the winner of the Llanwrtyd Wells tournament.  Their other two opponents were in the form of ‘The Lethal’ DCB and Brad Matthews.

Texas Joe Salvoldi made light work of Brad Matthews and picked up the win for his place against the winner of the match between his son and DCB.  Triple A gave DCB a run for him money with the fans undivided support for the youngster behind him, but the rookie fell short against his more experienced masked opponent as DCB finished him off to secure his spot against the hometown legend Texas Joe Savoldi.

The South Wales show also saw the debut of brothers Jim ‘The Metal’ King and Marcus King as tag team duo ‘SuperNatural’.  The fresh faced brothers battled the  Russian TranSiberian Express, picking up a victory in their debut match for BWP.  This was a long time before SuperNatural, and any brotherly connection disbanded, as later on in 2009 SuperNatural won the Tag Team of Year award.

This show was also the debut of Rudy Wynne to the BWP as a fumbling referee.  Rudy’s incapability of keeping up with the in-ring action led to him to later look for other roles in the organisation and eventually became the first BWP General Manager, the rest, just as this, is history!

Later in the night the winners of the first rounds of the 4 Man Parade KO tournament went head to head – the local legend Texas Joe Savoldi against the Superstar who had earlier beaten and humiliated Tex’s son, ‘The Lethal’ DCB.  With the audience behind him, as well as both size and vast-experience, Savoldi dominated the match from the offset, utilising his power advantage over the masked DCB.  However DCB and his then Manager McGrou did what they did best and outsmarted both the referee and Texas Joe Savoldi and cheated their way to a victory for ‘The Lethal’ DCB.

With both of the home boys beaten they went straight into a 20 Man Rumble – Texas with revenge in mind as he literally battled through each and every participant – and when later confronted once again by the man that beat him, Tex beat him not just inside the ring but all around the venue before eventually tossing him back into the ring, and then straight over the top rope crowning Texas Joe Savoldi the winner of the Main Event of the evening.

Stealing His Thunder – Ciaran McConnell speaks out

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Ciaran McConnell, more familiar under the moniker of Celtic Thunder, speaks out in this statement emailed to BWP Admin following last Fridays ‘Brand Night’.

On Friday the 4th of February my outlook on professional wrestling and Britannia Wrestling Promotions in particular changed. I got into professional wrestling because I have always loved it. I love the showmanship, the physicality and the adrenaline rush that it gives to its fans and performers alike. On the 4th of February, however, in Saltney, Chester, I experienced the ills of professional wrestling up close and personal.

I say personal with good reason. The fans of the BWP have known me since my arrival in the organisation as “Celtic Thunder”, a name I have used with pride, in regard to my Irish roots. In Saltney, however, a man I once considered a friend, DJ King, referred to me by my given name: Ciarán McConnell. This forcible stripping of a moniker I have used my entire career brought home to me just how deep routed DJ King and The Brand’s disdain for everything I have always known professional wrestling to stand for is.

The Brand are fast tightening the death grip they have on the BWP. They care not for the things that make wrestling so great. They would rather hit a man with a kendo stick than take him down to the mat with a snapmare or a hiptoss; they would rather jump a man from behind than face him head on in the ring; they would rather monopolise the promotion through fear, coercion and unfair tactics than allow for heart, talent and skill to shine through. They are out to destroy the BWP as I (and so many others) know it.

But they haven’t yet.

For all the bad that the people of Saltney and I experienced on February 4th, one thing emerged that we can be grateful for. Despite “The Lethal” DCB, along with his stablemates, escaping Saltney with the Catchweight Championship of the World, the final moments of the night saw men standing side by side in solidarity and union. The Baby-faced Pitbull, Jacob Israel, D Mac, Jim King, The Red Saint, Corey E & myself stood shoulder to shoulder, much to the delight of the fans in attendance, in one, final act of defiance. In that one instance we sent a message to “The Brand”: They aren’t the only game in town, and any monopoly they sought to have on the BWP would have to be fought for. It won’t be that

The next battle in the war for supremacy comes on February 26th at “Tag Team Turmoil II”. I’d like to take the opportunity to announce that I am formally entering the tournament along with the man that I was scheduled to compete against in Saltney, until The Brand changed our plans. Corey E is, in my eyes and the eyes of many, one of the most underrated professional wrestlers in recent years. In my opinion, if the Mountevans’ era weight classes were still in common usage, Corey E would be at the very top of his class.
With our exhibition bout brought to an abrupt halt in Saltney, Corey and I have resolved to enter the world of tag team wrestling as a unit, in the hope that we may prevent the Brand from acquiring the Tag Team Championship.

So I implore the BWP Nation to be at the Town Hall in Denbigh for “Tag Team Turmoil II”. Be there, as Corey and I will be. Be there and Take a Stand… against The Brand! Be there… because it will be… a Classic!

Yours in wrestling,
“The Classic” Ciarán McConnell

BWP Founder Steve Saxon spoke to us briefly at the end of the Awards Bash and had this to say:

BWP Vault – This Time In BWP History

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

vault dec 10

Deep from the archives of the BWP Vault we bring you This Time In BWP History – a special look back at a historic moment in BWP history that took place years ago to this month.

This time round … BWP December 2008 >>

Saturday 22nd December 2008 – the first ever Britannia Wrestling Promotions show took place in Llandyrnog, North Wales.

The show was planned as a one off event by BWP Founder Steve Saxon.  Having been proposed by a local community council to host a Christmas wrestling show, Sax decided to go against the grain and test new waters with a cautious toe.  Little did Saxon know that by dipping his toe into the pro-wrestling water – he would become engulfed in the business to his neck.

After many weeks of precision planning, the BWP ‘For One Night Only’ show went ahead in front of a sold out crowd.  He had put together a show consisting of favors, peoples’ word and untested personal experience and belief!  The show was a roaring success, with the local wrestling hero The Red Dragon coming out on top in front of the frenzied Welsh crowd

The Red Dragon took part in a International Knock-Out Tournament consisting of ‘The Lethal’ DCb, Night Stalker and Awesome Aaron Adams.

Round 1 saw Triple A Vs DCB – DCB picked up the win following a admirably fair fought bout.

Round 2 witnessed the local hero The Red Dragon taking the Night Stalker to school, completely wiping the backside of the Russian masked man to proceed to the finals of the tournament.

Round 3 saw was final of the tournament – DCV Vs The Red Dragon.  Dragon dominated throughout, it was only the cheap cheating antics of DCB that cost the big man the victory, as the masked man wrapped the tournament trophy around the skull of the local hero causing a count out finish.

The Red Dragon later got some reconciliation by winning the 20 Man Rumble – making short work of DCB in the process.

Also in action was Tommy Gunn& Matt Hunter Vs Texas Joe Savoldi & Brad Matthews – Texas Joe and Brad Matthews taking the win.

Jay Icon Vs Lord Graham Thomas, with LGT picking up the win.

The North Wales fans were left desperate for more … but Steve Saxon didn’t know what his next step would be.

At the time Sax was working for legendary National promoter Orig Williams.  Sax had trained and worked under Orig for 11 years whilst at the same time working in senior managerial positions within International businesses, he wanted desperately to take up this new personal challenge, but the shadow of his mentor hung over him.  Saxon eventually took the step, and in March 2009 he held another hugely successful show in old hometown of Silverdale, Stoke on Trent – and then a BWP show occured each month thereafter.  From Liverpool to Stoke, North Wales to South Wales … BWP slowly began making a name for itself and its Superstars, boasting the next generation in British Wrestling Superstars and a modern and original approach to its business and supporters.

Two years later the BWP have gone from strength to strength, introducing innovative direction to the British Wrestling scene as well as establishing successful wrestling Superstars.  The BWP name and image has become an integral and synonymous part to the North Wales region in the 24 months it has been in operation, and just as quick as the BWP fanbase expands and improves, as does it’s Superstars, shows and goals.

This time in history – history was made.

A Friend For Life

FRIENDS

In a strange twist of events at BWP Denbigh Town Hall Brawl 2 last month, The Bouncer took it upon himself to teach Tommy Gunn a lesson having lost 2 consecutive matches involving Gunn.  As The Bouncer dragged Tommy back into the ring to hand out another serving of punishment – and things started to look even worse for the popular Gunn as his victor from the September, Sabotage, walked to the ring and was presented a beaten Tommy Gunn by a gleaming Bouncer.

What happened next shocked both the BWP audience and Tommy Gunn as Big Sab KO’ed The Bouncer with a perfectly fitting forearm smash – sending the cock sure Bouncer crashing through the ropes and to the venue floor.  As Tommy looked up at Sabotage in complete astonishment, Sabotage offered his hand as a gesture of peace … graciously accepted by a thankful Tommy Gunn.

Sabotage then told Tommy, in an act of class, that what he witnessed during their match in September was Tommy Gunn proving that he is one of the hardest working and most talented guys in the BWP locker room.  Sab acknoweldged Tommys efforts in September and told him that he was a credible opponent and for that reason, Tommy has a friend for life!

The BWP fans certainly appreciated what Sabotage did for Tommy Gunn as they applauded the two BWP Superstars as they left the ring together, Sabotage clearly seen to be aiding Gunn who was struggling to walk backstage on his own following his grueling tag team victory and the beating further absorbed from The Bouncer.

Already announced for the opening BWP show of 2011is a major tag team match as Sabotage & Tommy Gunn have been paired up to take on Lord Graham Thomas and his bodyguard, Shaun ‘The Hammer’ Davis.  Will the friends for life be able to gel quick enough to fend off LGT and the The Hammer – Tommy & Lord Graham Thomas are no strangers to each other having crossed paths in numerous singles matches in their BWP careers – but with the added British beef in this match how will this affect the Rapid Fire and the Lord?

Friends;-

1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
4. One who supports, sympathises with and aides.

We all make friends throughout the different levels of life that we pass through, some come and go never to be heard from again, some stay in contact throughout your entire life occasionally popping up to say ‘hello’ and to check in on life, but very few acquired friends remain a constant part of your life from start to finish. These kind of friends we refer to as ‘best’ friends – the person or persons that we trust, rely on, connect with and entrust with our lives.

D Mac walked into BWP Denbigh Town Hall Brawl 2 as the BWP World Catchweight Champion, with his best friend DJ King at his side – however he left Denbigh alone, confused, betrayed and angry.

D Mac didn’t only lose the BWP World Catchweight Championship on Saturday 13th November 2010 … he lost his best friend.  The one person that he had faith in that he could trust, or at least he thought.  What would lead to DJ King, a respected member of the BWP Roster, to turn his back on his friend in favor of a group of corrupt, venomous individuals such as The Brand?  The main mystery of all of this is why King would align himself with ‘The Lethal’ DCB – 8 weeks following their epic encounter together in the Denbigh Death Match?

Could DJ King be envious or perhaps jealous of the recent success and achievements of D Mac?  D Mac and DJ King did briefly appear in a match together – the Sure Shot Challenge 5 Man Ladder Match back in August, of course D Mac went on to win the ladder match, proceeded by cashing it in against Lord Graham Thomas and winning the BWP Championship for the first time in his career the following month.  Could this have been what tipped DJ King over the edge?

Or is it a case that the returning Rudy Wynne simply got into the head of King in order to paint a bigger picture for The Brand?  Wynne has been known to flash the cash about in the BWP in order to bully recognition, but rarely respect … something DJ King will need to get used to receiving a lot less of due to his choice of current associates!  With the General Manager in on this whole fiasco, could DJ King have been promised a brighter future in the BWP in return for his conscience and soul?

We here at Britannia Wrestling Promotions have been successful in making contact with DJ King, however we have been less successful in receiving an answer to the one and only simple question – ‘Why?’ …. DJ Kings response on both separate occasions that question has been asked, ‘No Comment’!

We will continue to press this matter with DJ King and his fellow Brand associates.  For now, we offer a warning to all BWP Superstars – do not trust DJ King … do not trust Rudy Wynne and DO NOT trust The Brand!

Introducing BWP Rookies Division

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

rookies

Another one of Steve Saxons new innovative projects kicks off tomorrow night at BWP Championship Showdown II in Rhyl, North Wales as the BWP Rookies Division kicks off with some International tag team action!

The first BWP Rookies to kick off on a live BWP show will be the Japanese tag team duo of Creevil & Togan as they face off against ‘The Italian Stallion’ TVB & Wade Wilson.

Will these 4 debuting Rookies prove that they are worthy of this golden opportunity to shine in the BWP? Will we be watching a future Main Roster performer or even the first BWP Rookies Division Champion?

More BWP Rookies will be announced and unleashed in the coming days, weeks and months …
