Britannia Wrestling Promotions Fan Favourite of the Year 2010 AND 2011, ‘Rapid Fire’ Tommy Gunn is notorious for his high flying, high impact and high octane arsenal of moves inside the wrestling ring, a BWP Original and a much loved and respected member of the British Wrestling community. Tommy’s desire, will and passion shine forthmost in all of his matches – the respect shown towards him from his fans is clearly returned by the young fighter as he continues to put his body, and life, on the line night after night, dazzling every crowd in every town across the UK with his high risk daredevil style – at some point, Tommy Gunn was destined to break.

‘I sustained my injury at the start of 2011 doing a wrestling show and ever since that show my shoulder hasn’t been right since. I worked with it all of last year working around the injury and was visiting my surgeon, Mr Turner, constantly checking up on it.’ Tommy explained to BWP Admin.

I had a MRI Scan about mid April confirming that my shoulder didn’t have some bone where the ball & socket joint is & that I would have physio first & if nothing improves from that, It needed surgery.

Literally, after the physio, I knew it wasn’t getting any better & it needed something done so once I did my last show on the 27th Nov, 2weeks after roughly, I had a cancellation date for the 13th Dec to have the surgery.

The operation procedure was some sort of Key Hole surgery first to look in the area what needed to be done & then ‘Open Reduction & Internal Fixation to Right Shoulder with some Bone Graft to the Iliac Crest (Hip)’. The surgery took nearly 4 hours & I went down at 9am & got back to my ward at 2:45pm.

I was in hospital for 3days 4nights hooked to morphine for the first 48 hours due to the procedure I under went etc.

The photo’s that are attached are me the day before I left on the 15th, the X rays the day after surgery, the stitching on my shoulder & hip aswell as the scars sustained after the stitches.

As for possibly my return to the ’squared circle’ by the very end of April at the latest depending on how my physio goes etc & seeing my surgeon to discharge me.

I hope this is enough for you dude

Speak soon Boss.

Tommy underwent an MRI scan in April 2011, the scan confirmed that there was missing bone from his ball and socket joint of his right shoulder - physiotherapy was prescribed in order to establish if Tommy would be able to work with the injury or not but after several months of intense physio it was decided that it did indeed require surgery, surgery that Mr Turner insisted that Tommy proceed with, or the repercussions would be serious. A reluctant Gunn signed for the surgery and the waiting game was on.In true Tommy Gunn fashion he would not let this injury, regardless of its severity, stop him from working on the wrestling shows that he has pre-booked with promoters, he worked up until 27 November 2011, working around the injury as best as he could whilst still ensuring that his fans left happy.

At 9:00am on Tuesday 13 December Tommy prepared for a long enduring operation – first of all key hole surgery that would investigate the missing shoulder bone closer, followed by open reduction and internal fixation of his right shoulder, with a bone graft being done from Tommy’s hip to replace the missing bone in his right shoulder. After 4 hours of surgery, Tommy was stitched up, cleaned up and returned to his room where he was continuously monitored and connected to a morphine supply for 48 hours, a further 2 days later Tommy was given the all clear to return home to his relieved and delighted family.

Tommy is still in the long and enduring recovery process in order to get his shoulder back to full strength – but Tommy is adamant that he will be back – refreshed, revitalised and ready to hand out more arse kickings – Tommy Gunn style! ‘I hope to be back in the squared circle by the end of April’ Gunn stated ‘but thats all down to medical clearance – but I’m ready’.

From all at Britannia Wrestling Promotions, friends, fans, followers and family – we wish Tommy a speedy and successful recovery and look forward to seeing him chasing the gold on Britannia Wrestling turf very, very soon!

Yesterday I visited the Grangeway Community Centre, home of Runcorn Wrestling Academy, and am very pleased that I did. I’d never attended an RWA training session before, although have attended many RWA shows over the past 2 years, it was a visit to observe, scout and officially announce in person to the RWA trainee’s about everybody’s future following the announcement that RWA will be the official training school of Britannia Wrestling.

There was a great buzz about the training school and lots of activity, the venue was split into three sections, two ring sized floor mats and the RWA training ring – each of the three head trainers, Corey E, the Babyface Pitbull and World of Sport Legend ‘Gypsy’ John Kenny, trained different techniques, moves, bumps, etc to three groups of trainee’s that were grouped based on age and experience, each group rotated ensuring that everybody had ample time with each trainer and on each lesson. The professionalism of the whole school is excellent, everybody works together to collectively hold one of the best training sessions that I have ever witnessed in this business.

I then addressed the trainee’s, informing them that Britannia Wrestling Promotions will continue to work with Runcorn Wrestling Academy as we have done for over 2 years, one of the only changes being that I will be attending their weekly training sessions to observe their constant development. I also informed them that the RWA Head Trainers and I will work together to decide which of the trainee’s will take part in the RWA/BWP Crossover Match at RWA Night of Memories 7 on Saturday 04 February 2012 – the winner of the match will be officially signed to the BWP Rookie Division – right there, in the RWA ring on 04 February.

It was a great experience to witness two of my former Champions working hard with their trainee’s – Pitbull and Corey are both perfect examples of the positive connection between both RWA and BWP, the respect and commitment that is reflected between both trainer and trainee is distinctly apparent.

It was also great to see John Kenny working closely with the trainee’s and passing on his infinite gems of advice and knowledge of this business onto them. He’s still got it.

I look forward to returning to RWA next weekend and witnessing another training session that is promised, as always, to be completely different to the previous one. My visit this week certainly confirmed that there are great things ahead for both Runcorn Wrestling Academy and Britannia Wrestling Promotions.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Runcorn Wrestling Academy is now the official training partner of Britannia Wrestling Promotions. This deal allows for greater growth for some of the future talent of the British Wrestling circuit – growth that previous RWA trainees have taken advantage of and have gone onto not only headlining Britannia Wrestling, but working for some of the other reputable British Wrestling companies around today.

We have had a healthy, positive and informal working relationship with Runcorn Wrestling Academy for over 2 years but now we are able to work together on a more professional level, monitoring the students in preparation for their transition through training school ranks into the ranks of the BWP Rookie Division.

On Saturday 04 February 2012 I will be making a special guest appearance at RWA Night of Memories 7, I will be there to announce which RWA trainee’s have been selected to compete in a special match on that very night. The winner of this match will be handed a Britannia Wrestling Promotions contract inducting them into the BWP Rookie Division with immediate affect!

This transition between companies will allow for greater opportunities for the loyal and dedicated trainee’s of RWA and I for one am greatly looking forward to working with Runcorn Wrestling Academy to produce the next crop of Great British Wrestling talent!

Since 04 September 2009, a solid foundation between Britannia Wrestling Promotions and Runcorn Wrestling Academy has formed – a relationship that allows continuous growth and evolution from a Professional Wrestling training school to an established & reputable independent Wrestling Promotion.

Moving into 2012 BWP Founder & Owner Steve Saxon has announced that he has come to an agreement with Runcorn Wrestling Academy that will allow greater opportunities for the trainee’s of RWA to be able to step up to the BWP Rookie Divison and work live BWP shows once their training process is fulfilled.

Saxon and RWA Management are said to be finalising plans for a special announcement at an RWA event in early 2012 at the Grangeway Centre in Runcorn.

Britannia Wrestling Promotions is home to some of the best wrestlers in the UK today. Superstars like The Babyface Pitbull, “The Juice” CJ Banks, Shaun “The Hammer” Davis and Zack “Diamond” Gibson excite and entertain the legions of BWP fans every month doing what they do best. But in November of 2010 something changed in the BWP, something that shook Steve Saxon and his staff to their very core. Through the creative genius of myself and “The Lethal” Destello and the financial backing of Rudy Wynne, the collective known as The Brand was born. February 2011 was a beautiful time for us as we had possession of the PWI:BWP World Catchweight Championship and control of the BWP through the GM Sebastian D.Winterz but it all fell apart. Destello showed his weakness and vacated the title, Sebastian D.Winterz let personal problems cost us control of the BWP. In a matter of months we had gone from being the strongest force in British Wrestling to nothing more than a joke.

Now who is to blame for this I hear you ask? The same people who are trying to hold us back now, the same people who keep us off the BWP posters week in and week out. Steve Saxon and the BWP board of directors. Saxon knows how powerful we are but how many Catchweight title shots have we received? Yes, we currently have possession of the BWP Tag Team titles and the BWP Rookie Division title, but we did that by doing what we do best and that’s demolishing everyone in our way. Our very own Dean “D Mac” MacManus is a former BWP Champion and has still yet to receive a rematch. Why is this I hear you ask again dear reader? Because the BWP knows if we get that belt back then we will be in complete control of the BWP once again and that scares the hell out of Mr Saxon. He is holding us back in favour of his ‘chosen few’ like Jim King (who totally stole my name) and The Red Dragon (didn’t he used to be a Saint?). Speaking of the ‘chosen few’ how can I forget Jacob Israel? That kosher midget has had everything handed to him and what has he done with it? Nothing. He is a loser and a joke just like the rest of Steve Saxons followers and soon enough they will learn the same thing myself and the rest of The Brand learnt a long time ago, Team BWP is the wrong team to be on.

I’ll finish off by leaving you with a few message’s. To Steve Saxon and the rest of BWP Management. Stop trying to fight us. We are the strongest force to ever come through the BWP and you would do well to learn to work with us then to continue to fight against us. As long as you continue to be ‘Brandist’ (copyright The Brand 2011) we shall continue to destroy every so called superstar you put in our path. It may not be fair, it may not be pretty but it will bring an end to unjust vendetta you have against us. Now to all BWP Superstars who are not affiliated with The Brand. Our doors are always open. If you feel you are being mistreated or misused by BWP management then why not talk to one of us and we’ll see if we can find a place for you in our happy little family. But know this, if you want to become a member of our illustrious group and if we can find a use for you then you need to know a couple of things:

Number One: When/if you’re in The Brand, you’re in for life (or until we no longer have a use for you)

Number Two: Failure is NOT an option

I am DJ King and you have just been educated.

In any sport, the Champions set the standard for the sport and/or promotion. Champions always steal the spotlight because of their worldwide status as being up there with the worlds elite sportsmen and women. Britannia Wrestling Promotions are no different to every other sporting business out there, our Champions reflect our product – they have earned their stripes, mostly, and now have the right to declare themselves as part of the worlds best.

If we take a closer look at the current BWP Gold Standard – our PWI:BWP World Catchweight Champion CJ Banks has been heckled and slandered by the BWP fans & followers since winning the title from El Generico earlier this month under most controversial, yet completely legal circumstances, as the top dog of BWP at present, CJ Banks is in that spot because he showed great skill, talent and integrity to earn the chance to be Champion – he took advantage of a vulnerable situation – regardless of how you feel about CJ Banks as a person, he made a smart move.

However away from CJ Banks we have the BWP Rookie Division Champion Craig ‘Danzig Winters and the BWP Tag Team Champions DJ King & Cyanide … all 3 men have two things in common … they are all members of The Brand … and they are all always escorted to the ring by Stacey Rose.

Without a doubt, The Brand are dominating and bar-setting faction within Britannia Wrestling Promotions – but the Superstars holding the titles are not necessarily the sole reason for their recent successes. There is one person, at least, that stands in the background mostly, occassionally more visibly and physically involved than they perhaps should be, non-the-less, they are there … and without them there with The Brand, maybe there would be no Brand!

Stacey Rose … long term valet to The Brand as well as with other British Wrestling Superstars, Stacey Rose always leaves a mark on any promotion she steps in to. In the BWP Stacey Rose immediately joined the ranks of The Brand, mainly due to her friendship with current BWP Tag Team Champion DJ King, but has proved her worth since her arrival by continuing her own personal resume of championships!

Stacey Rose celebrates with The Brands DJ King & Cyanide – NEW BWP Tag Team Champions

Since Stacey Rose joined The Brand she has valeted former 2xPWI:BWP World Catchweight Champion El Destello before his back injury forced him into early retirement earlier in 2011 rendering the Catchweight Championship vacant, a decision that Miss Rose was clearly unhappy with. Also within The Brand Stacey Rose played an integral role in Craig Winters’ BWP Rookie Division Championship win against Jacob Israel in the notorious Prestatyn Death Match, taking the brunt of an alarming steel chair shot to the head that was intended for Winters. Stacey also assisted The Brands DJ King & Cyanide to finally capture the BWP Tag Team Championships from Classic Combo at Denbigh Town Hall Brawl III last month, again never afraid to get physically involved with any wrestler, Miss Rose played a constant distraction to ‘Classic’ Ciaran McConnell and Corey E – enough so that they walked away from the Welsh town with nothing more than their kit bags, where as DJ King, Cyanide and Stacey Rose celebrated in style as the new Tag Team Champions.

Stacey Rose taking an unexpected and unintentional chair shot to the head from fellow Brand member ‘Danzig’

Outside of Britannia Wrestling Promotions Stacey also valets for Superstars at sister company Runcorn Wrestling Academy. Miss Rose currently managed the RWA Heavyweight Champion as well as being a big reason behind the RWA Tag Team Championship title wins of the A-List (AC Kage & Adrain Myers) … one of the most successful and recognised tag teams in RWA history!

A rose between 2 thorns …. RWA Tag Team Champions The A-List

It seems that no matter which wrestling promotion that Miss Stacey Rose decides to bless with her presence, she is the go-to diva if you want to seriously seek wrestling gold and media recognition. If you are reading this and you wrestle for Britannia Wrestling Promotions, then you may seriously need to re-look at The Brand – who they are – what they do – why they do it … because Miss Rose certainly seems to have settled her roots within The Brand … so now, in the BWP at least, it seems that if you want, or need, Stacey Rose’s services … you may need to go through The Brand to get them!

Britannia Wrestling Promotions are proud to announce the signing of Welsh TV personality/actress/singer/model Sian Davies and Welsh TV personality and Movie Director/Producer Ryan Kift!

BWP have been holding shows across Wales now for 3 years, putting on the absolute best form of wrestling entertainment possible each and everytime, bringing the best of British and International wrestlers to Wales – from major towns to the smallest of villages, Britannia Wrestling Promotions is determined to cover the whole of Wales, and with our recent Welsh signings, making all of future BWP shows uniquely bilingual!

Ryan Kift, Producer & Director for new Welsh horror movie ‘Zombies from Ireland‘, will now join the commentating team of Britannia Wrestling Promotions. Sian Davies, a regular on Welsh TV channel S4C as well as starring in ‘Zombies from Ireland’ and modelling for several major modeling agencies/magazines, will bring back a little bit of ‘old school’ back to ‘new cool’ as the official BWP Ring Girl – a diamond in the rough!

BWP Founder Steve Saxon had this to say about his recent signings:
‘I have known both Ryan and Sian now for about 12 months, they are a great team both on and off screen and I am extremely excited about bringing them into the BWP family – I am looking forward to seeing and hearing the Welsh language becoming a natural part of BWP shows and who better than a stunning model and actress and a movie producer and director to help kick start the BWP Welsh Connection’

Ryan Kift also made a few comments:

CYMRAEG: ‘Dwi wrth fy modd cael ymuno a BWP fel rhan o’r tim sylwebaeth. I Have been a fan of wrestling since ever and BWP is the best company around today, they combine exciting stories and thrilling wrestling all at a show the whole family can enjoy.
In bringing the welsh component into the company I feel that there is more of a chance to extend to a wider audience and hopefully together we can bring wreslo back on the box!’

And last, but by no means least – the sexy Sian Davies had these words for the BWP fans:

CYMRAEG: ‘It’s cool to be a ring girl for BWP. I believe I will inject some glamour and sexiness to a male dominated sport. This shows BWP’s not afraid to evolve and this is what sets them aside from other company’s in the UK today. Being a professional model and a fanatic wrestling fan this is indeed a dream job for me!’

At BWP Championship Chase III on Saturday 09 July 2011, ‘Rapid Fire’ Tommy Gunn informed the BWP Nation that his tag team partner and fellow BWP Tag Team Champion, Sabotage, had retired from Professional Wrestling, taking the advice of his doctors and surgeons.

Sabotage & Tommy Gunn captured not only the BWP Tag Team Championship titles earlier this year, more importantly they captured the hearts of the BWP Fans. Their unique style as a duo made an instant impact here in Britannia Wrestling Promotions, fans and peers alike ‘marked out’ when Sab-Gunn were on the show.

Setting the benchmark for future BWP tag teams, Denbigh Town Hall witnessed the Tag Team Turmoil II event that crowned Sab-Gunn as the BWP Tag Team Champions and an undeniable force to reckoned with in the Britannia Wrestling tag team ranks.

Unfortunately Sabotage sustained a serious and severe neck injury several years ago whilst wrestling in the UK that rendered him out of action for a substantial amount of time. Sabotage suffered a broken neck that was surgically repaired using metal plates. Defying all medical and professional odd’s, Sabotage returned to action after putting himself through a vigorous rehabilitation regime.

At BWP Resurrexion Sunday on 24th April 2011 Sabotage participated in the Championship Tournament to crown the new BWP World Catchweight Champion. Sabotage went face to face with The Brand’s Cyanide. During this knock-out round event Sabotage took a lethal blow to the head at the hands of his opponent and with a little help from the BWP World Catchweight Championship belt, causing Sabotage concussion as well as causing severe damage to his surgically repaired neck.

Sabotage underwent a series of medical examinations over the days and weeks following his match with The Brand’s Cyanide, but it wasn’t destined to be good news for the big man as doctors gave him no other alternative but to quit the wrestling business for the better of his health and family. Sabotage, a devoted and loving family man decided to do what was best for his health, his wife and his children and finally hung up his boots in the BWP locker room for the final time, but he will forever be remembered as the guy that took Britannia Wrestling Promotions by storm, raised the bar on so many different levels and will forever be remembered as not only one half of the first ever BWP Tag Team Champions …. but as The Man!

On behalf of the entire BWP Nation of Wrestlers, Crew, Management and ultimately the BWP Fans … we say ‘Thank you Alex’.
