Throughout the season, we have been bewildered by comments about a storm coming. What was this “storm”? Why was it only certain wrestlers were boasting about it?
Well, we were enlightened in the penultimate show as to what this storm was. And it struck like a lightning bolt in the form of The Pack!!
So, who is The Pack? As the name suggests, a pack of dogs…or wolves, consisting of:
The Babyface Pitbull
Yes people, you have read and seen that right – wrestling royalty Keith Myatt, and the seemingly fun loving Ciaran McConnell showed their darkened colours by forming an allegiance with The Pack.
In the words of one of the many BWP fans “Myatt and McConnell should be ashamed of themselves, as although most people know what the other Pack members are like, these two have just disrespected all the fans”
The Pack certainly made their mark. It’s formation occurred on the 17th August at Ffrith Beach Arena. In the Main Event, Catchweight Chanpion 100% Pure Welsh Beef Dylan Roberts was to face The Babyface Pitbull in a title match.
It was an excellent match, with Dylan giving everything he had, owning the Pitbull throughout, and keeping him on his leash. That is, until the referee Nathan, was knocked to the floor, out cold, after he inadvertently got in the way of the 2 superstars. It was at this point that Dylan had The Pitbull pinned. But when he didn’t hear a count, he turned to see the referee out cold. The entire crowd were behind Dylan, counting over – and then, from backstage, Head Ref Max came running out to give the full 3 count. Dylan had held on to his belt!
But it wasn’t over. Out came Baz Mac, in his role as “Assistant General Manager”, smugly citing that the count was not valid, as the Head Ref had been ordered earlier in the season to never be allowed to officiate over a match again involving the Pitbull or Lana. The crowd was incensed. Dylan was confused.
Then out ran a hooded figure wearing a Pitbull mask. Who was this newcomer? Well, he soon made himself known. After slamming Dylan with a chair, he ripped off the mask to reveal himself – non other than Marc Morgan!
Morgan continued his assault on an exhausted, and beaten Dylan Roberts, hissing insults at him and gloating at his newfound allegiance with The Pitbull.
Just then, the familiar entrance music of Myatt and McConnell blared over the noise of the crowd. The cheers went up. Now we would see some retribution for Dylan, and some well deserved justice metered out on the despicable Pitbull and Morgan…
….but just when we thought that Dylan would be saved from the onslaught as Myatt and McConnell picked him up, they gave him a double DDT, face into the canvas!
The shockwave of stunned silence went across the arena! What were we seeing? 2 of the most beloved stars of Britannia Wrestling were here, demolishing their friend Dylan, and basically spitting in the face of all their fans!
They dragged Pitbull, who was still dazed from getting an ass whooping, onto the crumpled body of Dylan, and then had Nathan count the 1, 2 and 3, officially making The Babyface Pitbull the Championship belt!!!
The newly formed “Pack” then posed for the stunned crowds, shouting and cursing them as Dylan was assisted out the arena for medical attention.
The final night of the summer season, Lethal Intentions, and the atmosphere was electric. Curiosity buzzing around the arena as to the setup of a champagne lounge in the middle of the spectator area.
We were not kept waiting long, as The Pack announced themselves, all suited and booted, and proclaimed the nights events as The Pitbull Appreciation Night.
They took their place in the champagne lounge, where they remained, having their own party, as the night went on. They remained there all night, jeering the talent who made their way to the ring.
The only time they left was when each had to go and prepare for their matches. Marc Morgan won a match against Dean McManus. Dean put up a brave fight, and fought hard, but the devious Morgan pulled out a win.
Lana had her match against Nixon, which she lost, and Myatt and McConnell lost to the Freak Show (Cyanide and Bam Bam Norton). After the win, The Freak Show, along with DJ King proceeded to kick off against The Pack, as even though they are not known for their kindness, they have honour, and they could not believe the despicable way in which The Pack had been formed. The Pack, however, managed to hold their own, and DJ King was severely beaten.
And even the highlight of the evening – Dylan Roberts vs Jay Lethal did not go without The Pack intervention, with Jay Lethal of all people seeminlgy siding with The Pack!
When will this reign of tyranny ever end? Who else is going to find themselves on the wrong side of The Pack! Watch this space to find out!!
