No1 Contenders Tournament Semi Final
Zack Diamond v AC Kage

After being selected by the Llandudno audience to face each other in the opening match and semi-final round of the No1 Contenders Tournament, the ‘Blueprint4Pain’ AC Kage locked up with ‘Mr Match of the Night’ Zack Diamond. Zack as always gave it his all from the offset, taking charge of the match and giving Kage a run for his money, until Kage saw an opening in Diamonds arsenal and dropped him across the top rope, causing damage to the mid-section of Zack.

AC Kage zoned in and attacked Diamonds body, blow after blow he chopped down a resilient Zack Diamond but to no prevail as Zack was able to ground Kage long enough to hit his gut busting top rope frog splash … causing more harm to his already damaged body, but not enough to stop Zack from rolling AC Kage up for the 3 count and a place in the final leg of the No1 Contenders Tournament later in the evening against the winner of the Lord Graham Thomas/Tommy Gunn match.

As Diamond celebrated in great pain, an irate and humiliated Kage attacked him from behind, brutally attacking Diamonds mid-section with shoulder thrusts and backbreakers followed by two big splashes from the middle rope.

Winner and qualifying for the final leg of the No1 Contenders Tournament: Zack Diamond

El Destello v Corey E

Next up was a match that was never going to be pretty – as recently dethroned champion El Destello hit the ring with Miss Kitty by his side to take on the undefeated rookie Corey E. Destello wasted no time in locking up with Corey, taking the upper hand from the offset claiming Corey in a headlock and taking him down with a couple of big shoulder tackles … but Corey was able to take the Lethal Luchador down with a series of effective arm drags, locking in an arm lock to try and keep the Mexican down.

Destello & Corey went back and forth throughout the whole match – each getting the better of their opponent at different points, Corey certainly held his own against the more experienced and manic El Destello ashis speed and ability shone through as he was able to hit the Unprettier on surprised El Destello, followed by his big double leg drop from the top rope –unexpectedly El Destello kicked out of the pin, Corey went to lock in a second Unprettier on a dazed Destello, in typical Destello style he hit Corey with a low blow followed by an lethal ensiguiri shot to the back of the rookies head. Destello shot up to the top rope and went for the Swantom Bomb, fortunately Corey was still alert enough to roll to safety causing Destello to crash and burn to the solid ring floor.

A relieved crowd cheered for Corey as he climbed to the top rope for another double leg drop onto the motionless Destello for the win … but Destello was able to roll out of the way causing the rookie to hit the mat hard! Locking onto his target, Destello quickly locked Corey into his Side Effect finisher for the 3 count and to end the
undisputed debut of Corey E!

Winner: El Destello

No1 Contenders Tournament Semi Final
Lord Graham Thomas v Tommy Gunn

Out next match is Lord Graham Thomas and Tommy Gunn for their leg of the No1 Contenders Tournament match. After his match with Gunn in February at BWP Rural Rumble, LGT was visibly reluctant to enter the ring with the rapid Tommy Gunn – wasting so much time on the outside that Tommy went out to the outside, via the top rope, to officially start the match by landing on top of a clueless LGT. Referee Des Grierson followed the wrestlers up into the audience isles as they battled each other up and down the stairs, desperately trying to get them in the ring to get the match on its way.

Eventually the semi-finalists entered the ring, they exchanged a number of wrestling holds and locks until LGT realising he was not going to be able to out-wrestle the young Gunn, went back to his usual ways and cheated to gain the advantage. Once on top, LGT hammered away at Gunn, hitting body shattering move after move in order to ground the speedy Tommy. LGT seemed to waiver and weaken through his efforts of trying to down a firey and resilient Tommy Gunn, enough for Gunn to hit a series of pin attempts only to be finally blocked of further advances by a head removing clothesline. Both Superstars spilled to the outside, laying into each other with LGT eventually coming out on top with a hard slam to Gunn to the outside of the ring. Gunn managed to make it back into the ring just as the referee was about to hit his 10 count … only to be pounced upon by LGT and locked into a leg claim as LGT wrapped his powerful legs around the body of Tommy Gunn and squeezed the air out of him.

Tommy battled back, hitting a desperate hurricarana on LGT leaving himself time to breath and get his game back together. As both men made it to their feet, they exchanged right hands, Tommy suddenly gained his second wind as he hit LGT with spinning head scissors and bulldog followed up by a corner backflip pin. As Tommy set LGT up for a 619 – he managed to catch Gunn mid-flow and turn him into a double-powerbomb pin – but still this was not enough to finish Tommy off, who managed to hit a lightening fast enqiguiri kick to LGT followed by a this time successful 619 … Gunn was not done with LGT as he climbed to the top rope and hit a sensational 450 splash! That move even knocked the wind out of Tommy, who took a few seconds to console himself before dragging himself over to LGT who was flat out on the canvas. Amazingly LGT kicked out of the pin attempt at the count of two, Tommy managed to pick himself up and set upon a dazed and confused LGT as he attempted a middle rope spinning DDT – only to reversed by LGT who span Tommy back onto the middle rope and opening up on a couple of regal stiff right hands. Gunn also fired back rights of his own until he hopped onto LGT’s shoulders and went for a front roll pin, only to be blocked by LGT with a sit down pin, as referee Des Grierson counted to 3, LGT grabbed the middle ropes as extra leverage, and a proving winning formula for LGT throughout the evening.

Winner and qualifying for the final leg of the No1 Contenders Tournament: Lord Graham Thomas

Phoenix & Celtic Thunder v D Mac & DJ King
The highly popular duo of DJ King & D Mac shook the BWP Llandudno crowd into a with their fresh approach and styles to wrestling. The fun duo gave it their all against the slightly more experienced Phoenix and Celtic Thunder.

The crowd mocked Celtic Thunders accent, which caught him off guard on a number of occasions allowing D Mac and DJ King to take advantage of the match. It seemed that greater experience was not a major factor in this match as DJ King and D Mac dominated the vast majority of the action throughout the 15 minute match.

However, the dirty tactics and antics of Pheonix and Celtic Thunder came through for them as they finally got the win over the fan favourites after Thunder distracted the referee during a D Mac pin attempt, allowing Phoenix to hit his Phoenix from the Flames spin sit down bomb on D Mac for the 3 count.

Winners: Phoenix & Celtic Thunder

Clash of the Ego’s – Winner Takes All
BWP Owner Steve Saxon & BWP Champion Jim ‘The Metal’ King v BWP General Manager Rudy Wynne & Marcus King

The tension was so thick you could literally cut it with a knife as these 4 Superstars entered the ring in a match that would determine the future of Britannia Wrestling Promotions! Steve Saxon was hot off the mark, demanding Rudy Wynne to start the match with him, although a reluctant Wynne backed off and left Marcus King to take the reigns … but with Saxon and the Llandudno crowd heckling Rudy for being a coward, he stepped between the ropes for the first time in his wrestling career to participate! The bell sounded and the BWP Owner and BWP General Manager circled each other … only for Marcus King to blindside Sax from behind as Rudy strutted to his own corner.

Steve Saxon has not stepped inside a wrestling ring to compete in over 3 years … and it showed, as Marcus King beat him down and worked him into the mat, as Marcus had a deep arm lock applied to Saxon, Rudy blind tagged his partner and decided that he now wanted to join the party. Rudy worked on Saxons arm a little before deciding to showboat to the crowd and giving The Sax Man a taste full of Rudy-palm … this did not get the desired result from Wynne as Saxon glared at his GM and then set on chasing him, only to be blocked by a sly clothesline from Marcus King.

Rudy immediately tagged Marcus back into the ring to inflict further damage on their employer, Marcus worked Saxon down to the point where the Owner of BWP looked like he could take no more. As Marcus lifted Sax into a fireman’s carry, Sax was able to slip behind and dive to the safety of his own corner, finally making a tag to his partner, and brother of Marcus, Jim ‘The Metal’ King! King stormed into the ring and did battle with his own brother … Jim fighting to keep hold of his title belt as well as his job, went back and forth with Marcus, but it seemed on this occasion that Marcus was coming out to be the better brother as he managed to put the champ down on the mat. Marcus remained on top of his younger brother until Jim was able to seize a moment of weakness of Marcus’s behalf and make a tag to Sax, who came in with a massive kick to Marcus’s arm, but was soon caught short, as Marcus hit Sax with his Dragon Driver into a pin – 1.2….Rudy Wynne again blind tagged Marcus, who looked on in shock as Rudy shoved him out of the way in order to get the pin on Saxon. Rudy wasted time, demanding the photographer move to the front of the ring to capture the moment he pins, and wins, Steve Saxon. As Rudy stood with his foot on Saxons chest, arms in the air, Saxon kicked out, Marcus screamed at his partner to pin him properly, but it was to late, as Saxon kicked out again. Rudy rushed to his corner to make the tag to Marcus King before Saxon revived again, but Marcus decided enough was enough – he dropped to the venue floor and proceeded to walk away from the ring, screaming ‘we could have won you idiot’ to Rudy Wynne.

Rudy shouted at Marcus to come back and help him, but Marcus had gone and Rudy was left alone … by the time he realized this, it was to late, Saxon was back on his feet and opened up with a number of hard hitting punches to Rudy’s skull, before sending him flying into the corner where Rudy ‘fell’ into a waiting Jim King fist – as Rudy dropped to the mat – Sax tagged in the champ who stalked Rudy from behind, waiting, and then BANG – Jim King KO’d the frail General Manager with a massive kick to the head – as Rudy hit the canvas hard – Jim gave the final tag of the match to his partner and boss, Steve Saxon. Saxon climbed into the ring, glaring down at Rudy Wynne who was now trying to worm away from his bosses advances – but it was to late for the General Manager as Steve Saxon locked in a figure 4 leg lock onto Wynne, who screamed and wailed in pain until his hand bashed the mat as he screamed above the Llandudno crowd the words ‘I quit’!

The match was over, the 11 month battle between good and evil was over, Rudy Wynne and Marcus Kings careers were over!

Saxon grabbed the microphone and leaned over the top of Rudy Wynne who lay in pain on the canvas … Saxon said ‘I have waited 11 months for this, and you know what now Rudy? Your Fired!!’ … with that confirmed, Sax demanded that the BWP security remove Rudy Wynne from his ring and his building! As the fans applauded the dismissal of Rudy, Saxon and King celebrated in the ring together.

Your winners of this match – and still Owner and Champion: Steve Saxon & Jim ‘The Metal’ King!

No1 Contenders Tournament Final
Lord Graham Thomas v Zack Diamond

The winners of the earlier semi-final matches now meet face to face to determine who will go on to face the BWP Champion at BWP Cruel Intentions in Rhyl, North Wales on Saturday 26th June. Both men were exhausted from their earlier confrontations, however Zack Diamond was a little more worse for wear than His Lordship following the horrible attack by AC Kage earlier in the night. Diamond had his abdomen heavily taped and bandaged to try and get him through this final match with LGT – however it seemed that LGT saw the bandages as a target as he instantly went for Diamonds injured body.

LGT gave Diamond everything he had from punches and stomps to his abdomen to stretches and slams – all aimed at further weakening the body of Zack. Anybody that has seen Zack Diamond wrestle before knows that he is not called ‘Mr Match of the Night’ for nothing, as he battled back, refusing to give in to the onslaught. Zack seemed to be working off the crowds support, as he slowly but surely beat back on LGT enough to even climb the top rope and for the 2nd time that night hit his Frogsplash pin, causing obvious damage to himself as he struggled to get off the mat himself following the move. LGT slowly got back to his feet, as did Zack who shoved LGT to the outside of the ring giving Zack a much needed breather.

Zack realized that time was ticking and went after LGT to the outside, but referee Des Grierson stopped Zack from leaving the ring, Zack, now running on pure adrenaline, shoved Des out of the way – as LGT picked up a solid chair from the venue floor and hit Diamond in the gut with it, causing him to fall back into the ring reeling in pain – LGT quickly climbed to the apron and hit a middle rope diving pin onto his opponent, with his feet firmly attached to the middle rope for extra leverage as the referee blindly counted to 3!

LGT celebrated in the ring about the prospect of another title shot, his first since November 2009 when he lost to then champion, Sebastian Winterz.

Winner and No1 Contender to the BWP Championship: Lord Graham Thomas

The Rematch of the Year

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

ed
BWP SuperNova will be an all-round action packed event … headlined by the rematch that the entire BWP Nation have been talking about, former champion El Destello takes on Jim ‘The Metal’ King, the man that finally dethroned The Lethal Luchador of his title at BWP Soul Survivor in March 2010.

Their first confrontation was a close call and hard hitting match, however their rematch on Sunday 30th May will no doubt have the Prestatyn audience on the edge of their seats as these two duelling superstars will go at it in a No Holds Barred – Falls Count Anywhere match! Some have said that this style of match gives the former champion some level of advantage, however Jim ‘The Metal’ King is no stranger to brawling under these kind of match stipulations having been involved in his fair share of battles in his time in the BWP.

Both superstars were involved in the BWP Extravaganza event this past weekend, Jim walked away from his match alongside partner Steve Saxon after successfully ridding the BWP of now-former BWP General Manager ‘The Word’ Rudy Wynne and his partner Marcus King in the Ego v Ego winner takes all match – and then later went on to be the last man standing in the over-the-top-rope rumble – eliminating El Destello and current No1 Contender Lord Graham Thomas.

El Destello also ended the undefeated streak of rookie Corey E in a smash mouth match that same night, almost breaking the arm of the young superstar. Destello is clearly still furious about his title loss in March, but showed last week that he is now even more focused that normal, and has just one objective – win!
