Silverdale, Stoke on Trent – the Michael Barrs Memorial Cup Rumble was an action packed challenge that pitted all BWP Superstars against each other to be crowned the first ever winner of the Michael Barrs Memorial Cup, but only one man could walk away with the sentimental award … and on Friday 4th September 2009 that man was The G-Man Simon Gaytley!

Every 2 minutes of the Rumble a randomly selected BWP Superstar would enter the ring – the only way to be eliminated was to be tossed over the top rope with both feet hitting the venue floor … however, there was a slight change of plan for the first two entrants of the Rumble as BWP Founder Steve ‘The Sax Man’ Saxon kicked off the competition by declaring that viewing the earlier match between The G-Man and Derek ‘The Motivator’ Evans, that saw Marcus King interact in the match and cause G-Man the loss via count-out, that the first two entrants of the Rumble, in the interest of fairness, would be The G-Man and Marcus King!

G-Man entered at number 1 – with a reluctant Marcus King following at number 2 … G-Man immediately battered down King, with blood still flowing down the G-Mans face from his earlier battle against The Motivator, this was not enough to hold back the Pink Assassin as he not only clawed his way through King, but each and every other BWP Superstar – eventually being left with the mammoth Andy Baker – as Baker clotheslined G-Man over the top rope, his own momentum sent him over the top rope also, however G-Mans experience allowed him time to grab the top rope – Baker tumbled to the venue floor, and G-Man was left hanging on the apron to the clear delight of the Silverdale crowd!  The winner of the BWP Michael Barrs Memorial Cup – The G-Man Simon Gaytley!

G-Man was then presented the cup by BWP Founder Steve Saxon as they embrased in the centre of the ring – G-Man then made an emotional and heartfelt gesture as he left the ring, and presented the cup to the family of Michael Barrs, followed by inviting the nephews of Michael into the ring along with the BWP roster.

Congratulations to The G-Man on his desrrved and hard fought victory and thank you to all of the BWP Nation for their support in Silverdale.
