A Lord Returns

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

l_b1224477b1f63ee14f7bcd8482a6d857 Lord Graham Thomas has informed BWP Officials that he is now been granted medical clearance to return to the ring after major back surgery, correcting an injury that LGT sustained during a wrestling bout several months ago.

Although the Lord may not be loved by all of the BWP nation, there is no denying that the BWP has not been the same since he was medically discharged some 3 months ago … now, preparing for his in-ring return, Lord Graham Thomas has set his sights on the BWP Catchweight Championship title that will be introduced at a forthcoming BWP event.

Will the near life shattering operation have changed to English Lord?  Will he return as the same obnoxious blue blood or will the BWP Nation witness a new form of royalty?

G-Man & El Destello – Things Ain’t Over

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

gman-destello-hungryEarlier this month, Stoke on Trent witnessed a bloody, brutal and sick No Holds Barred match between The G-Man & the twisted El Destello .  The match, although sanctioned by BWP officials, has been blasted by BWP Founder, Steve Saxon as being a match that started professionally and ended personally.  Silverdale, Stoke on Trent watched in complete shock and amazement as they saw Destello & G-Man literally tear chunks out of each other, battling in the crowd as well as the ring, using whatever item they could lay their hands on with the intention of not only ending the match, but ending their opponents career as well!

Ultimately the experience combined with the sick and twisted mind of El Destello ruled over G-Man – who had almost clinched victory on numerous occasions throughout the match.  G-Man ended up in North Staffordshire hospital overnight suffering from an array of injuries as well as concussion as a result of The Lethal Luchadors over the top assault during, and after the match!

G-Man has since declared that no matter what it takes, no matter where it is, no matter how long he waits, ‘it ain’t over!’ – the self confessed ‘Man’s Man’ has declared that he will get revenge against the Mexican and feels that Destello’s hunger for the BWP gold is his weakness …. ‘You cost me a night of my life, I’ll cost you the BWP title’ roared the irate and motivated G-Man, referring to Destello’s clear anger and frustration over being the first man eliminated in the BWP Eliminator Final match, by the  new number 1 contender, Tommy Gunn.

G-Man also noted that in the classic encounter between he and Destello, that it took the Mexican 3 chair shots, a kendo stick shot and a choke out move to put out G-Man – ’sticks and chairs may break my bones, but Destello will never hurt me!’

UPDATE (19 April 09)

Red Dragon Furious With Gunn & Metal

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Earlier today the BWP received an interesting phonecall from The Red Dragon who was clearly enraged and bitter about the occurrences of last Friday nights Eliminator Final, as he was taken out by the overall victor, Tommy Gunn, with a little assistance from SuperNatural, Metal , who came to the aid of Gunn in order to even the odds as both Jay Icon and The Red Dragon beat down an already wounded Gunn with a kendo stick.

The Red Dragon has expressed that he was only informed of the change of the rules from a standard elimination match to a no disqualification match mere seconds before the match was due to begin. The Red Dragon has complained that he was ill prepared for the match, thus was caught “off guard” by a singapore cane shot from Metal. The Red Dragon lodged an official complaint against Senior Referee Rudy Wynne , and requested that the match be rulled null and void.

BWP Founder, Steve Saxon, has since stated that although he agree’s with the notion’s of The Red Dragon, circumstances were out of his control for the change. Furthermore, both him and Tommy Gunn had the same length of time to prepare for the match, and as a professional, he should be more ready for exceptional circumstances just like those on Friday. Therefore, the decision stands.

The Red Dragon was not happy with the Sax Mans statement and declared that no matter what, he would ensure that would be the first man to be crowned the new BWP Catchweight Champion … and in the meantime he has his sights set on the young Metal, who cost him the chance at becoming the new champ … Dragon certainly see’s that he has a score to settle with the young Englishman … how will Metal react to this news?  Will he accept the loose challenge that The Red Dragon seems to be issuing?  And what for Tommy Gunn?  Will he take the guarantee’s of the Dragon as a serious threat or as an angry losers call of retribution?

Stay posted for further updates ….

G-Man Hospitalised!

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

gman-hospital
BWP’s make-up wearing & fun loving hard man, Simon Gaytley , was sensationally hospitalised at the hands of El Destello this past weekend, as they took on each other in a 1st Round qualifying match of the BWP Elimination Tournament … their match unlike any other qualifying match, was made to be a No Disqualification/Falls Count Anywhere match, set by BWP Founder Steve Saxon for reasons unknown.

From the offset Destello took it to the G-Man hard – hitting him with fierce and brutal punches and kicks, G-Man was able to outwit the masked Mexican menace and gave the Silverdale natives a few laughs along the way as he tiraded in the ring, humiliating Destello as well as physically punishing him!

The brawl soon ended up on the arena floor amongst the spectators, G-Man & Destello tried to finish each other off as they slammed each other through walls, tables and doors … fighting around, under and on top of the tables … they threw everything at each other, brutally beating each other to a bloody pulp … even the audience members became involved in this masacre as G-Man invited 2 audience members to send in a couple of blood-vessel popping slaps on the Mexicans chest.

Although G-Man had the crowd behind him, and gave the Lethal Luchador a run for his money, it was not enough for the fun loving fairy to get the win, as Destello managed to get literally smash as chair over his head, busting open the G-Lips and decking him!  Destello was not finished, as he gave Gaytley 2 other chair shots to the skull followed by a Kendo stick shot to the centre of the G-Mans make-up covered eyes!  As the ref was about hit the 3 count in favour of Destello, the mad Mexican broke the count and slapped on the DSTF with the Kendo stick around the G-Mans throat – referee Rudy Wynne instantly called for the bell, although El Destello had not finished with the unconscious Gaytley – he continued to throttle the G-Man … until Rudy Wynne called for BWP Head of Security, Wayne Hambleton to manhandle the masked man off the motionless body of Simon Gaytley.

Gaytley was immediately rushed to North Staffordshire hospital for urgent treatment, having lost a lot of blood and being unconcious for almost 5 minutes, concerns grew over the well being and health of the flamboient G-Man.  Doctors attended to the wounds and laserations of Gaytley and kept him in for overnight observations.

This morning, BWP Founder Steve Saxon contacted britanniawrestling.co.uk to inform us that Simon Gaytley had been discharged from hospital and had been taken home to North Wales to get some much needed and earnt rest, the G-Man is in high spirits given the over the top beating that he took from El Destello.  No further information is available at this time on the condition of Gaytley, although we will try to get hold of him shortly to try and get his thoughts and comments on what is being dubbed as the most brutal battle that British wrestling has ever witnessed!

East V West – Tearing Down The House

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

seb-angelos-tear-down-house
As the explosive rivalry between East & West hit burning point, Seb Winterz took on the SuperNatural, Angelos in Silverdale, Stoke on Trent last Friday night in a battle that would not only determine who would qualify to the final stage of the BWP Eliminator …. but would also end up testing both mens mind, body and spirit to the max!

From the moment the bell rang, referee Rudy Wynne has his hands full as Winterz and Angelos tore into each other with vicsious and venomous moves, each trying to dismantle their opponent to proceed onto the final of the tournament … Angelos proved to be the smarter of the two competitors on this night, out-thinking and smarting the Siberian Physco to gain the upper hand, utilising his agility and techincal in-ring knowledge Angelos beat down the big man.

Unfortuately for the young English man, the Russian bear’s bone smashing arsenal of hard hitting moves proved to be the decision maker, although Angelos fought back time after time, it was not enough for what Seb Winterz had next in line for him.

As Winterz locked Angelos into his patented Russian Roulette suplex, neither man quite expected what was to come next  …. the power and force of Winterz finishing move not only folded young Angelos in half, but also the ring!!  Winterz’ brute force sent Angelos literally crashing through the centre of the ring to the arena floor, causing the red hot Silverdale crowd to stand in complete shock as they then witnessed the Russian get back up, climb to the top rope and hit a planet-moving elbow drop on the broken Angelos … referee Rudy Wynne had no alternative but to give the win to Seb Winterz as a result of his actions and the aftermath it had created!

As Seb Winterz vacated the ring area, BWP officials tried to give emergency treatment to Angelos, but the young Londoner refused to be strectchered out of Silverdale and somehow managed to pick himself up and walk out of there on his own accord, much to the delight of the Silverdale crowd who cheered for him as a sign of respect.

Seb Winterz is a powerful and dangerous man, we have witnessed him annialate opposition in both tag team and singles competition – although he did not win the Eliminator tournament to proceed to the championship run … it goes without saying that the Russian bear will be hunting the gold by whatever means possible!

Angelos proved that he can run with the big boys, even without his brother by his side he almost had Winterz beat with his fast paced and no fear attitude, expect that Angelos will be seeking retribution on the big Eastern brawler very soon and as much as Winterz will be hunting the gold, Angelos will be hunting him!

Tommy Gunn Wins BWP Eliminator Tournament

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

tommy-gunn-winner

Last night, Silverdale Stoke on Trent witnessed a hard hitting and extreme evening of professional wrestling, as eight of the BWP’s toughest Superstars competed in the BWP Eliminator Tournament … but only one man stood tall and victorious at the end of the evening, having taken out four of the eight competitors, ‘Rapid Fire’  Tommy Gunn defied the odds and was crowned the first number one contender for the new BWP Championship Title.

With the crowd strongly backing Gunn throughout the night, as he finished off the ‘Brummie Bad Ass’ Jay Icon with a massive springboard splash … but not before being bust wide open by Icon, but this was still not enough to put Gunn away as he proceeded to the final of Eliminator against other Round 1 winners, The Red Dragon, Seb Winterz and El Destello .

As The Red Dragon walked away from the match and assisted commentator Jason Sinclair as Tommy Gunn managed to fend off the onslaught of El Destello & Seb Winterz and hit them both with a double SY5 finisher, eliminating both the Mexican & Russian!  As Gunn watched the 2 International Superstars fighting with referee Rudy Wynne , The Red Dragon seized his chance and returned to the match, along with Gunn’s earlier opponent Jay Icon.

Both men beat down the already tired and wounded Tommy Gunn, setting him up for a knock-out shot with a kendo stick, until Gunn was both smart and quick enough to dodge the attack, as The Red Dragon smashed Icon over the head with the kendo stick …. as Dragon was distracted by his own actions, Metal came to the aid of Tommy Gunn as he took out The Red Dragon with the same kendo stick, giving enough time for Tommy Gunn to regain his momentum and  get the 123 on the Dragon to be crowned the BWP Eliminator Tournament winner.

Gunn was badly injured and received medical attention at North Staffordshire Hospital as he received several stitches to his right eye, as well a treatment for a gash to his right arm.  He has stated that he will be 100% fit and well to take on the next contender for the BWP Championship, whoever that may be.

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Once again, Britannia Wrestling Promotions hit media headlines for the Silverdale show which hosted the BWP Eliminator tournament.  The following article if taken from The Sentinel newspaper:

‘Professional wrestling comes to North Staffordshire this weekend.  Stars of Britannia Wrestling Promotions (BWP) will be at Silverdale Working Mens Club tomorrow night.

The show will run for more than two hours and features a number of live bouts.  Wales’ 25-stone Red Dragon will face any challenger brave enough to get into the ring.

The event will also mark the return to Silverdale of BWP Founder, Steve Saxon, who has not been back to hometown for over 12 years.  The former Sneyd High School pupil moves to Wales with his parents at the age of 15.  He said “The show will feature the highly anticipated BWP Eliminator Tournament pitting eight wrestlers in a tournament to crown the new number one contender for the new BWP Championship belt”.
